As we have already highlighted on several occasions, Riot Games has created a partnership program through the VALORANT Champions Tour in which 30 teams will fight for glory for an entire season.

The Pacific region is one of the three new regions for VCT 2023. This region encompasses Asia-Pacific, including Korea, Japan, and Oceania.

In this region, teams from all corners of the area will battle it out for a spot in the VALORANT Champions 2023.

The teams will play each other for the first time in Sao Paulo next year and immediately face a new league format.

Without a doubt, Detonation FocusMe is one of the longest-running organizations within the professional esports scene. Still, unlike other teams on this roster, they have not made a name for themselves in the international VALORANT.

This will be the team’s first time in a high-level league in VALORANT, alongside DRX, Gen.G, and T1. This makes the VALORANT scene in South Korea and Japan even better for 2023.

DRX

  • Stax
  • Rb
  • Zest
  • BuZz
  • Mako
  • Foxy9

DRX is no stranger to the VALORANT competitive scene. However, what is most surprising is that the team was created in 2022,

The old Vision Strikers squad joined DRX and was inspired. So much so that they finished in third place in the Champions 2022 played in Istanbul.

Gen.G Esports

  • Meteor
  • K1Ng
  • TS
  • eKo
  • Secret

Geng.G is one of the teams that decided to move region for VCT 2023.

This team is originally from the United States, but they are now based in South Korea and are part of the Pacific region.

In NA, Gen.G was a mid-level team, as they sat out of all significant top-level events in 2021 and 2022. However, with their foray into the Pacific, the team is expected to have more of an international presence.

Paper Rex

  • F0rsaken
  • Benkai
  • D4v41
  • Jinggg

Since its creation in 2022, Paper Rex has seen its level grow so that they are now considered one of the best teams in the world and, consequently, in the Pacific region.

In addition to the signing of CigaretteS, it has remained the same since day one. With Benkai at the helm, the team participated in almost all top-level international tournaments in 2021 and 2022.

Zeta Division

  • Laz
  • Crow
  • Dep
  • SugarZ3ro
  • Tennn
  • Barce.

Zeta Division is the only Japanese representation in the Pacific region of the VCT 2023. Let’s remember that, in 2022, the team had a great level that led them to compete in the Champions 2022.

In addition, they finished in third place at the Reykjavik Masters, the best finish by a Japanese team in a VCT tournament.

Japan’s best team wants to prove that it is worthy of the champion title and stay on top against its rivals in the Pacific region.
