The 24-year-old Dane Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen will return to League of Legends in the summer split of LCS 2022. The professional player is expected to rejoin Cloud9’s main lineup after spending a split in the Academy.

For some time now, there have been rumors that the Dane would rejoin the main lineup. The young Dane played only briefly at the LCS 2022 Lock In, but since last year’s World Championship, he hasn’t been seen too often. There was hardly any information about him back then and you saw very little of him overall.

Zven wants to return to the big stage

Cloud9 was recently eliminated from the playoffs and since then rumors have been growing that Zven will return to the main lineup. He has been playing in the professional scene since he was 15 years old, mostly as an AD Carry. But for some time now he has been trying his hand as a support. With this move, Jonah “Isles” Rosario and Kim “Winsome” Dong-keon lose their starting roles on the team.

Zven has an import status, but with Cloud9’s new acquisition of Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen, this problem is solved. The 19-year-old Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami from Australia will move back to the top lane. Kim “Berserker” Min-cheol and Robert “Blaber” Huang are expected to keep their spots.

Career before and with Cloud9

Zven played for TSM for some time, but then moved to Cloud9 in the winter of 2019. With his new team, Zven won two titles in 2020 and 2021. During his four split runs with Cloud9, the experienced player managed four pentakills. Before his move to the North American region at the end of 2017, the professional made a name for himself in Europe.

At that time, he played for Team Origen and went by the name “Niels.” Later he was with OG and reached the semifinals of the Worlds with the lineup in 2015, which was definitely a highlight in his career. After that, he moved to G2 Esports, with whom he won four EU LCS titles in a row. In an interview, Zven said that he will return to Cloud9’s lineup, and that he believes he is “still an LCS-level player.”

He also said, “Thanks to everyone who believes in me. I’m not on Twitter or Reddit much right now, but I really appreciate that there are some nice people out there supporting me and looking out for me, so thanks. I hope that even though I’m not playing, I can help make Cloud9 better overall this year.”
