Livestream Overview

The livestream aired on August 22, 2025, giving players a first look at what’s coming in Version 2.2. The update officially drops on September 4, 2025, and will run until October 14, 2025. The update is split into two phases with new banners, story missions, and plenty of rewards to chase.

Phase 1 (September 4 – September 24, 2025) – Seed agent banner, Cordis Germina w-engine banner, Trigger agent rerun banner, and Spectral Gaze w-engine rerun banner
Phase 2 (September 24 – October 14, 2025) – Orphie & Magus agent banner, Bellicose Blaze w-engine banner, Evelyn agent rerun banner, and Heartstring Nocturne w-engine rerun banner

Livestream Redeem Codes

As usual, HoYoverse shared a special redeem code during the livestream: OBOLSQUAD, which grants 300 Polychrome, 2 Senior Investigator Logs, 3 W-Engine Energy Modules, and 30,000 Denny. You can claim these rewards only until August 24, 2025.

New Agents and W-Engines

Version 2.2 is bringing both fresh faces and returning favorites to New Eridu. Along with debuting S-Rank agents, the update also features reruns for two popular characters—and all of their signature W-Engines will be available in their respective phases.

Seed (Phase 1)

The first new S-Rank agent of 2.2, Seed, takes the spotlight in Phase 1. She comes with a nature-themed fighting style, her own signature W-Engine (Cordis Germina), and a personal story quest titled Flora of the Blooming Valley.

Orphie & Magus (Phase 2)

Phase 2 introduces Orphie & Magus, a long-awaited duo who fight as a team. Their combined mechanics bring fresh synergy to combat. They’ll be accompanied by their signature W-Engine, Bellicose Blaze, as well as special event missions that expand their story.

Trigger and Evelyn Reruns

For players who missed them before, Trigger (Phase 1) and Evelyn (Phase 2) will return in rerun banners. Both will also bring back their signature W-Engines: Spectral Gaze for Trigger and Heartstring Nocturne for Evelyn.

New Story Content and Events

The story also moves forward in the Zenless Zone Zero 2.2 update with Season 2 Chapter 3: “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.” This chapter digs deeper into the mysteries of New Eridu while keeping the action intense, continuing where 2.1 left of. If you’re a lore-heavy player, make sure to immerse yourself in this new chapter.

On top of that, Seed gets a personal quest called Flora of the Blooming Valley, which will reveal more about the character and their background.

Events

Suibian Temple upgrades: Easier sorting for crafting items.
Shortcut Function Wheel: More customization for Proxy menus.
Map Enhancements: Agents with Trust Events are now marked with icons.
Character Screen Options: Hide unused agents and get W-Engine recommendations.
Quality Time Events: Choose which sibling to bring along.
Display Stand Expansion: Showcase up to 20 collectibles in Random Play.
