Team Spirit have opened The International 2026 playoffs with a 2-0 victory over 1win, powered by a remarkable Lone Druid performance from Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk.

The two-time TI champion produced several statistical records during the first game, finishing 18/0/9 while eventually destroying 1win’s Ancient through backdoor protection.

Spirit completed the sweep after 106 minutes of total play and advanced into the upper-bracket semifinals, where PARIVISION now awaits on August 21.

Yatoro turns early advantage into massive Lone Druid game

The first map immediately developed around Yatoro.

Playing Lone Druid, Spirit’s carry secured two kills before the first creep wave and converted the advantage into an exceptional early economy.

The victory is particularly important because The International has now moved into its double-elimination Main Event. Winning the opening upper-bracket match keeps Spirit away from immediate elimination pressure and provides a considerably cleaner route toward the grand final.

It also represents Spirit’s deepest TI run since winning the Aegis in 2023.

The organization entered this year’s playoffs after an uneven route through the earlier stages. Strong opening results were followed by defeats against PARIVISION and Nigma Galaxy before Spirit survived the Elimination Round.

Spirit’s next opponent will be PARIVISION on August 21.

The matchup already carries additional significance because PARIVISION defeated Spirit 2-0 during the earlier stage of the tournament.

That gives Yatoro and his teammates an immediate opportunity to reverse one of their previous losses.

The winner will move deeper into the upper bracket and remain only one series away from the grand final. The loser will fall into the lower bracket, where every subsequent match becomes an elimination series.

Yatoro’s Lone Druid performance will be remembered even if Team Spirit’s TI 2026 campaign continues for several more days.

An 18/0/9 scoreline is impressive on its own. Combining it with record-level net worth, more than 36,000 tower damage and a game-ending backdoor makes the performance much harder to replicate.

The more important result for Spirit is the 2-0 score.

Individual records have no value if the team fails to advance, and Spirit successfully converted Yatoro’s spectacular opening map into a clean playoff series victory.

PARIVISION will provide a very different test, particularly after already beating Spirit earlier in the tournament.
