xQc wanted to buy a VALORANT squad and almost got scammed

With the current boom of new teams in the different professional esports scenes, many streamers wish to take advantage of their popularity to create a team and build it up from scratch. Well, one of the most challenging things to achieve is already there: a large fan base.

This trend has reached VALORANT, as we have seen how different viral content creators have decided to create or buy their team. This is the case of Disguised Toast and Ludwig, who have purchased North American VALORANT lineups in recent months.

They were nearly joined by Twitch king Felix “xQc” Lengyel, who was on the verge of buying a VALORANT team but almost got scammed off in the process.

After seeing the evolution of the Disguised Toast team, xQc said in a live stream that his goal is to do something similar. Mind you, what he wants to do is to defeat the aforementioned Disguised Toast’s lineup. But, of course, we already know that xQc doesn’t usually miss a beat, and when he says he wants to do something, he will look for a way to get it done.

However, xQc was unsuccessful in his team search and saw Ludwig form another team before him. However, The King of Twitch, xQc, said in a recent stream that a group of cryptocurrency scammers almost scammed him:

“My brother, I told him I was interested in buying a team and contacted a team to buy. So I went ahead of Ludwig to sign a team. They had already found a sponsor. The other DM I got was from a bunch of low-silver cryptocurrency scammers, and that’s it. No one else, no one sent me a DM again.”

Will xQc continue its search for a VALORANT team?

For now, there is nothing confirmed from xQc if he is still interested in buying a VALORANT team to participate in the NA Challengers League. Well, it didn’t sit well with him that he almost got ripped off in his first attempt to do so. However, the third week of the tournament has already ended, and now we will have only two weeks left to finish the Group Stage and find out which teams will advance to the Challengers Mid-Season Invitational.

If xQc is still planning to take over a VALORANT team, he should do it now. Well, he has a short time to make his move and be able to take over one of the teams playing in the NA Challengers League Split One. On the other hand, we can also note that the only team that does not yet have any sponsors in the NA Challengers League Split One is Turtle Troops.

That said, it would make the most sense for xQc not to rush into buying a team right now and wait until Split Two. This may lead to another group of cheaters trying to scam him by another method out of their eagerness or desperation to buy a team.
