Xbox ROG Ally and Ally X Leaked Prices Hint at October 2025 Launch

Microsoft is finally stepping into the handheld space, and if the rumours are right, it’s not gonna come cheap. The upcoming Xbox ROG Ally, made in partnership with Asus, might end up being one of the most expensive handheld consoles we’ve seen so far. A recent leak from a trusted source has hinted at what the price might be, along with when we might see these devices hit the shelves. Nothing has been officially said yet, but this new info got people talking.

Two Versions Coming – Ally and Ally X

Microsoft earlier this month announced it’s working with Asus to build a handheld Xbox machine. It’s not completely like a regular Xbox or a Steam Deck, but kinda in-between. This device will basically be a portable gaming PC, they say, with an Xbox-like experience. You will get Xbox Game Pass stuff, but also be able to play Steam or Epic Games and maybe more.

There will be two models: the basic ROG Ally and the stronger one, called ROG Ally X.

The Prices & The Release Date

According to someone named eXtas1s, who’s known for leaks sometimes being correct, two European shops gave him the prices. They say the regular Ally will cost €599, and the Ally X will go for €899. That’s around $700 and USD 1,000, if you convert it roughly. In UK money, that’s about £510 for the base one, and a surprising £760 for the X.

That’s quite more than Steam Deck or the upcoming Switch 2, which cost way less by comparison. The Ally X, especially, could be the most costly handheld console ever, if it launches at that price.

Also from that same report, the release might happen in October 2025, and pre-orders may start in August. But again, Microsoft haven’t said anything specific, only mentioned something like “Holiday 2025.” So October could fit, but it’s just a guess right now.

Compared With Past ROG Ally Models

Asus already had ROG Ally machines before those came in 2023 and 2024. They were not Xbox-branded, but they were powerful handheld PCs. Their prices were about $599 to $800, so these new Xbox models are more expensive than those.

Maybe it’s because of better hardware or the Xbox custom operating system they’re adding this time. That might be why the cost is going up.

eXtas1s has said true things before, but we still can’t say this is confirmed. It’s possible, but not sure yet. Asus and Microsoft haven’t said anything directly about price or date. So, like always with leaks, better to wait a bit more before making a final judgment.

If this leak is true, then Xbox fans might want to save up early. The Xbox ROG Ally could be powerful and packed with features, but it won’t be light on the wallet. Let’s see what gets confirmed in the next few weeks or months.
