PewDiePie, one of the most famous YouTubers and streamers, was surprisingly banned from Twitch. The reason is mysterious as he hadn’t even streamed on the platform.
The influencer received the notice of the ban on Monday 8th May 2023. The reason for the Twitch ban is unknown – and typically for Twitch, we may not even know the reason. PewDiePie doesn’t seem to mind that much though.
PewDiePie no longer active on Twitch
The exceptional Swedish YouTuber with 111 million followers hasn’t been active on Twitch for a long time, because he’s mainly on YouTube and uploads his videos there. At the moment, PewDiePie is in Japan, where he and his partner are awaiting the birth of their first child together. PewDiePie hasn’t been on Twitch for a while.

After his Twitch account surprisingly reappeared a few weeks ago, many believed his account had been hacked. From playing old videos to streaming entire episodes of the Canadian comedy series Trailer Park Boys, there was no actual “live” content on this show featuring Pewds itself. Of course, many assumed the channel was hacked, but it was soon discovered It turned out that CoPilotMedia had apparently taken over the channel and turned it into an endless re-broadcast that simply repeated old content.
Why was PewDiePie banned from Twitch?
Now PewDiePie’s channel has been completely removed from Twitch and can no longer be found. The reason for this isn’t entirely clear, but it could be due to the repetitive videos, or something that happened in the videos that wasn’t approved by Twitch. Maybe it’s something else entirely, but as is so often the case, Twitch will likely remain silent on this incident as well.
Some of the streamer’s fans have come up with speculations that YouTube’s relatively loose policies might be to blame. Others speculated that PewDiePie’s suspension was triggered by an accidental replay of the “Bridge Incident,” in which PewDiePie used the N-word during a PUBG session in 2017.
Twitch bought the rights to play his videos and hand picked them

Twitch is not the top priority
But apparently, the Twitch ban is not a big problem. PewDiePie is more successful on Youtube than on Twitch anyway, and streaming doesn’t seem to be his top priority. After all, he’s already one of the most successful content creators out there and doesn’t have to prove himself anywhere. So far, no one knows how PewDiePie’s Twitch account will continue. It might just be a temporary ban, but only time will tell.
