Where to Find and Catch the Best Electric-type Pokémon in Legends: ZA

fragster James Steward 25. November 2025

Electric Pokémon have typically been known for being fast and strong; however, in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, it feels a little bit different. Because of the combat system now being in real time, as opposed to being turn-based and restricted, some Electric-types are more or less useful in ways you might not expect. There is a tier list in this article that orders Electric-types in terms of which one works best in this new combat system based on real in-game stats, viable moves, utility to PvE and PvP, and whether or not they have Mega Evolutions.

The Top-Rated Electric Attackers in Legends ZA

Mega Eelektross

Stats are: HP 85 / Atk 145 / Def 80 / SpA 135 / SpD 90 / Speed 80. Mega BST is 615.

Moves such as Crunch, Liquidation, Thunderbolt and Charge can always be recommended. The quiet or brave natures are also recommended. The recommended EV spread is Max HP and either Max Att or Max Sp, with any leftovers into Sp. Def.

Tynamo spawns in Wild Zone 10, specifically the water area. Evolve Tynamo into Eelektrik then use a Thunder Stone to evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross. You can buy the Eelektrossite from Quasartico Inc. for 240 Mega Shards.

Mega Ampharos

Stats are: HP 90 / Atk 95 / Def 105 / SpA 165 / SpD 110 / Speed 45. Mega BST is 610.

When using Mega Ampharos, focus more on its special attack.

The optimal moveset is Power Gem, Dragon Pulse, Thunderbolt and Light Screen. The recommended nature is Modest, full EVs Recommendation is 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Def.

You catch Mareep in Wild Zone 1, evolving it into Flaaffy, then into Ampharos. Eventually, you will be rewarded with Ampharosite in the Main Mission #23.

Mega Manectric

Stats are: HP 70 / Atk 75 / Def 80 / SpA 135 / SpD 80 / Speed 135. Mega BST is 575.

Recommended moves include Charge, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, and Overheat. Recommended nature is Modest or Timid, and it is suggested to run 252 HP / 252 Speed / 4 HP for EV spread.

Catch Electrike at Wild Zone 5 and evolve at level 26. To obtain Manectite, you need 180 Mega Shards at Quasartico Inc.

Jolteon

Stats are: HP 65 / Atk 65 / Def 60 / SpA 110 / SpD 95 / Speed 130. BST is 525.

Very high speed, this helps Z-A a lot since speed affects dodging and cooldowns.

For moves, I’d recommend Protect, Electro Web, Thunderbolt, plus either Shadow Ball or Hyper Voice for coverage. Nature: Modest or Timid, EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Speed / 4 HP.

Eevee gets in Wild Zone 19, and you’ll need a Thunder Stone to evolve.

Raichu

Stats are:  HP 60 / Atk 90 / Def 55 / SpA 90 / SpD 80 / Speed 110. BST is 485.

Suggested movesets include Thunder Wave, Charge, Thunderbolt, Surf. Nature: Modest, Timid, Mild, or Rash. EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Speed / 4 HP.

Pichu can be caught in Wild Zone 1, evolved to a Pikachu, and then evolved by using a Thunder Stone. “Alpha” Raichu can also be found in Wild Zone 20.

Heliolisk

Stats are:  HP 62 / Atk 55 / Def 52 / SpA 109 / SpD 94 / Speed 109. BST is 481.

It has a dual-type (Electric / Normal), which provides some useful coverage flexibility.

Moves: Charge, Volt Switch, Solar Beam, Thunderbolt. Nature: Timid or Rash. EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Speed / 4 HP.

Helioptile can be caught in Wild Zone 14 but only on Sunny weather.

Conclusion

The Electric-type tier list in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is well-founded and backed by confirmed game mechanics. Because Z-A rewards speed, flexibility, and Mega Evolutions in combat like several other main series games, it is fitting that these Pokémon are at the top. Players will likely gain a significant advantage if they pick wisely from these based on personal play styles and their ability to acquire resources.
