What are the maps in each CS:GO game mode in 2023?

fragster 3. January 2023

Undoubtedly, the undisputed king among the tactical FPSs on the PC platform and Steam itself is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. CS:GO has maintained considerable popularity over the years thanks to its iconic maps.

In addition to the maps created by the developers, Valve will also rotate the maps created by the community. The best of them will have the opportunity to remain permanent additions to the game.

Active maps in the game

In addition to the traditional competitive mode of bomb defusing, CS:GO has many different game modes, each with its map pool.

Throughout the updates, Valve has shown us that it likes to change this map pool frequently, so it tends to be challenging for some players to keep up with those who play daily.

Active Duty

Active Duty maps are considered by Valve to be the best of the best and the most competitive, as well as having a balance that lends itself to a high level of play on them.

These maps are used in all professional CS:GO tournaments, including the prestigious Majors that Valve sponsors.

This group usually consists of 7 maps, which allows for a balanced pick-and-ban selection in tournaments. As we already know, the last change made to this list was the addition of Anubis and the departure of the iconic Dust2.

  • Inferno
  • Mirage
  • Nuke
  • Overpass
  • Vertigo
  • Ancient
  • Anubis

Competitive Maps

These maps can be played in the official CS:GO competitive matchmaking but do not currently appear in Active Duty. However, in competitive mode, you can play these maps in addition to the Active Duty ones.

  • Cache

Wingman Maps

One of the latest game modes added to CS:GO is Wingman, a 2v2 mode. Additionally, all maps are available for ranked and unranked play.

Most of these maps are those normal maps we have mentioned above, but with cut bomb locations, i.e., it is a standard but short map.

  • Cascade
  • Blagai
  • Vertigo
  • Inferno
  • Overpass
  • Cobblestone
  • Train
  • Nuke
  • Shortdust

Casual and Deathmatch maps

Casual and Deathmatch modes are those in which teams are more numerous, games last less time, and all players get armor and helmets in each round.

Spectators can watch players from both teams, but players who are dead cannot communicate with their teammates.

Casual maps and Deathmatch maps are separated into four groups.

As in Deathmatch and Casual, the War Games mode is separated into four specific game groups.
