The WePlay Academy League returns with the longest season in the series, spanning four weeks across May and June. In addition, four new squads will participate and try to break the domination of the reigning MOUZ NXT, who won the main title three times in a row.
The fourth season of the WePlay Academy League has been announced, and for the first time, 14 different CS:GO teams will participate. The tournament, dedicated to showcasing emerging young talent, will see four new Academy lineups, including Apeks Rebels, OG Academy, GODSENT Academy and 00Prospects.
The event will feature a total of $100,000 in prize money.

Teams and format
The fourth season of the WePlay Academy League will feature teams from all around the world. Unlike the organization’s main team, the GODSENT Academy will be represented by Brazilian players, while the core of 00Prospects and Apeks Rebels is made up of Norwegians. OG, on the other hand, is still in the process of building a youth team coached by Christian “crisby” Schmitt.
The participating teams will compete in two groups of seven, with the best team in each group advancing directly to the playoffs and the second through sixth place having to battle it out in the Play-In Stage. The top two teams in the Play-In Stage will qualify for double-elimination playoffs, with all games being best-of-three.

MOUZ NXT will defend the title without JDC
Out of the 14 attending teams, all eyes will be undoubtedly on German team MOUZ NXT, who won all previous seasons of the Academy League. This, of course, means their chances of winning are exceptionally good. Even outside of the Academy League, MOUZ NXT are showing to be a very strong team to beat.
That said, it is questionable how the line-up will perform without Jon “JDC” de Castro, who was recently promoted to the main MOUZ squad. The young German talent with a Portuguese background joined the MOUZ NXT lineup in June 2021 and since then has been an important part of the team. He was replaced by 15-years-old Finn Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo, the former rifler for Conquer Gaming.
