We are on the eve of League of Legends season 13, and at this moment, great hype has been marked in the community.

Most players and streamers have wanted to broadcast their last games of the previous season. Among them, we have professionals of the caliber of Kang “TheShy” Seung-look. But, one of his previous streams was not what he expected.

TheShy banned from the Korean server

Weibo Gaming toplaner TheShy was playing live and streaming his game last January 12. He was playing on a Korean server, and when he finished the game, he realized that his account had been permanently banned.

When he returned to the Lobby at the end of the game, the player received an account suspension message that shocked him. He tried to reconnect several times but could not, as he did not understand what had happened.

When he realized what had happened, TheShy immediately ended the broadcast. To this day, his account is still banned, and we don’t know if he will be back at some point.

What is not known is the reason for the ban. But this can be attributed to a rule Riot Games has recently implemented on Korean servers.

New regulations on Korean servers

In early January, the Riot Games office in South Korea stated that all accounts that players rent from foreign professionals would be suspended. This measure was taken explicitly to improve server quality and prevent the competitive experience from being affected.

According to a statement, this wave of bans will extend throughout the first quarter of 2023.

“Most solo queue accounts rented to foreign pros have been suspended, and all will be recalled by early this year”

“Players who visit Korea to boot camp will be provided rental accounts during te applicable period”

They will allow rentals of these accounts to those players who go to Bootcamp. We will have to see what happens with TheShy. What is clear to us is that this suspension has not prevented him from returning to the Korean server. He has reopened the stream with another account, although this time with the names hidden.

It is all about not complying with some internal regulations of the Korean servers that were implemented at the beginning of the year. TheShy is one of the best League of Legends players in the world, and to think that he has cheated or anything else like that is unfounded.

In the same way, we must wait if the player decides to make some statements about it or if Riot Games pronounces itself. Like everyone else, we are waiting to see what happens with the player.
