The Rainbow Six Siege scene has a new champion, and it is none other than a Brazilian team that has done nothing but prove that it is at its best. w7m esports achieved an excellent victory over Team Liquid in the Grand Final by 3-0 to be crowned champions of BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023.

The Brazilians proved that they are one of the best teams in the world, as they got this championship trophy after an almost perfect tournament, as they only lost one game in the whole Major.

w7m’s way to the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023

After a perfect Play-In phase, with victories over Team Bliss (7-1) and Wolves Esports (7-4), w7m esports qualified for the playoffs of the BLAST R6 Major Copenhagen 2023.

Then, the team continued to prove its superiority against each one of its opponents and scored victories against SCARZ (7-1), Team Liquid (7-5), and Soniqs (8-7). As a result, the team qualified at the top of the table for the finals, where the best eight teams of the tournament would face each other.

In the quarterfinals of the last stage of the tournament, the Brazilian team faced MNM, the British team that fought the hardest throughout the tournament. w7m started the series very strongly, winning the first game 8-6. After that, however, MNM Gaming woke up and took the victory in the second map (Border) with a score of 7-3. Finally, the Brazilians won in Villa to take the series 2-1.

Brazilians crush Soniqs for the second time

While the first match in the playoffs between w7m esports and Soniqs was intense (8-6), this series in the semifinals was nothing like that. Instead, the Brazilians took a convincing 2-0 victory to seal their passage to the grand finals.

In the first map, w7m esports started with a lot of strength and determination to try to settle things early on, and they did just that. They finally took the victory by 7-4 in Chalet. Then, in the second map, they applied the same dose, but in Oregon, with a score of 7-3, they got the victory that took them to the grand final.

Team Liquid fall again in the clutch of w7m esports

The final was an all-Brazilian scenario, as both teams belong to this South American country and are undoubtedly among the best in the world. However, w7m showed their samba was much more impressive and took a definite 3-0 victory.

The first map played was Skyscraper, where w7m started very well in attack thanks to a double-kill by Diego “Kheyze” Zanello. On the other hand, Felipe “nade” Ferreira’s offensive game was spectacular, and he was in charge of outwitting Team Liquid’s defense in each round. Finally, Team Liquid tried to react, but it was not enough, and they lost 5-7.

Then, we moved to Bank, where we enjoyed an extremely balanced match that had to be decided in Overtime. However, w7m prevailed again to take the victory with a score of 8-6. Gustavo “HerdsZ” Herdina (w7m) and Pablo “resetz” Oliveira (Team Liquid) were in charge of giving us a great map.

Finally, in Chalet, the last map, w7m was far superior to Team Liquid and took a comfortable 7-3 victory. While it is true that the first half was very evenly matched, at the change of sides, Felipe “FelipoX” Lucia was in charge of repelling all Team Liquid’s attacks and thus leading his team to victory to proclaim themselves champions with a clean 3-0.
