The fourth week of the VCT EMEA league has come to an end, and it was a week filled with one-sided matches. In fact, almost every match ended with a 2-0 scoreline, much like the previous week.

Despite Fnatic’s absence this week due to COVID-19, they are still securing the top spot in the points table, followed by NaVi with 4 wins. Giants, Team Liquid, FUT Esports, and Team Vitality are all in fairly comfortable positions, each with 3 wins. However, things are not looking good for Team Heretics and Karmine Corp, and the same can be said for BBL Esports and KOVA Esports. As the competition continues, it will be interesting to see which teams can improve their standings and secure a spot in the playoffs.

Let’s take a detailed look at what happened in VCT EMEA League week 4.

Team Liquid outclass Team Heretics

In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Team Liquid secured an important victory over Team Heretics, who were desperate to avoid a third consecutive defeat. From the very beginning, TL dominated the game, completely outclassing TH in the first half and leaving them with only two rounds to their name. However, TH showed resilience in the second half, fighting back to put up a strong defense and making the game much more competitive.

The second map of the match was truly a spectacle to behold, as both teams fought tooth and nail to gain the upper hand. TH threw everything they had into the game, resulting in one of the most intense and action-packed matches of the tournament. Despite trailing in the first half, TH refused to give up and managed to push the game into overtime, where Liquid ultimately prevailed with a hard-fought 17-15 victory.

Giants Gaming took two wins in a row

Day 2 of this week’s tournament saw a matchup between Giants Gaming and FUT Esports. FUT Esports started on the attack on their own map pick, but struggled to find their footing and only managed to win two rounds in the first half. Despite starting strong with pistol rounds, FUT failed to maintain their momentum, allowing Giants Gaming to secure a comfortable 13-5 victory on the first map.

Moving on to the second map, played on Split, Giants Gaming continued their dominating performance, leaving FUT Esports struggling to secure their first round until the eighth attempt. However, FUT managed to rally and secure three more rounds, ending the first half with the score at 8-4 in favor of the Giants. In the second half, FUT Esports showed great resilience and put on an impressive display, but ultimately, Giants Gaming emerged as the victors with a close 13-11 score.

NaVi has yet another win

In a crucial match that could determine their playoff hopes, Karmine Corp suffered yet another defeat, this time against NaVi. The first map played was Ascent, which was NaVi’s pick. The two teams were evenly matched in the first half, with the score tied at 6-6. However, NaVi’s impenetrable defense in the latter half made all the difference, as Karmine Corp struggled to break through. Despite a valiant effort, Karmine Corp ultimately lost the Ascent map with a close score of 13-11.

The second map of the match between Karmine Corp and NaVi was a disappointing affair for Karmine Corp. Despite starting strong and ending the first half with a 7-5 score in their favor, they were completely dominated in the latter half. NaVi mounted a relentless attack, winning every single round and leaving Karmine Corp with no response. The final scoreline read 13-7 in favor of NaVi, dealing another blow to Karmine Corp’s playoff hopes. With their fate now largely depending on the performance of other teams, Karmine Corp will be hoping for a miracle to keep their playoff dreams alive.

BBL Esports shuts down Team Vitality

The final match of week 4 witnessed Turkey’s BBL esports and Team Vitality in action. The first map played was Ascent, which was BBL’s map pick. Despite a strong start by Team Vitality, who ended the first half with a 7-round lead, BBL mounted a spectacular comeback in the second half. They won every single round, securing a 13-8 victory and taking the lead in the match.

Moving on to the second map, played on Haven, Team Vitality got off to a poor start, conceding eight rounds in a row to BBL Esports. Although they put up a good fight in the second half, it wasn’t enough to overcome their early deficit, and they ultimately lost the map with a respectable score of 13-9. While BBL Esports emerged victorious in both maps, it was a closely contested match that saw both teams putting up a strong fight.
