Fnatic and FUT Esports won their third-week matches in the EMEA League and take a commanding lead in the standings with victories over Team Liquid and KOI, respectively.

The VCT EMEA is in full swing with the event entering the third week of play. Natus Vincere destroyed Team Heretics on the first day of the third week, while two more thrilling games between the league’s top teams were played out yesterday. In the first match of the day, FUT Esports faced off against KOI, and in the second, Fnatic and Team Liquid squared off in a best-of-three series. Here is how the match unfolded.

Fnatic beat Liquid to go 4-0

Team Liquid chose Lotus to begin the encounter, but their pick swiftly backfired as Fnatic put up a commendable performance on the attacking side. As Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev and Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov demonstrated their fragging prowess in the first half, the VCT LOCK//IN champions conceded only one round and established an 11-1 lead at the end of the first half.

Although Liquid tried to put on a fight in the second half by securing five rounds, their efforts eventually turned out unfruitful as they had a low of ground to cover. With a combined 40 kills, Derke and Chronicle put an end to Liquid’s sufferings and gave Fnatic a comfortable 13-6 victory.

Despite the defeat, Liquid remained composed and put on a competitive performance on Fnatic’s map pick Haven, where they managed to keep the dangerous duo of Fnatic at bay for most of the first half. Liquid’s performance slumped in the second half, and with each passing round, they got more distant from scoring an equalizer. As they kept denying Liquid any room despite their desperate attempts, Fnatic won seven straight rounds to seal the map 13-6 and clinch their fourth straight victory at VCT EMEA

FUT Esports demolish KOI to secure their third victory at VCT EMEA

KOI established an early dominance over FUT as the best-of-three series kicked off on their map pick Icebox. KOI, however, was unable to maintain its advantage for too long as Konur “qw1” Ahahin, the star fragger for FUT, put on an outstanding effort to propel his team to a slim but vital 7-5 lead. Leveraging the momentum, FUT kept destroying KOI’s defense round after round until the game ended with a 13-6 victory.

Jose “koldamenta” Herrero and company started the second map on the right foot, capitalizing on the pistol round win to go up 3-0. After that, the game was incredibly close as both teams made equal efforts to dominate the other but the score remained tied 6-6. The Turkish Valorant prodigy qw1 stepped up once again FUT and posted a remarkable 28-kill performance to help his side close the map 13-9.
