The last week of the VCT Americas League is underway, and we have Sentinels and NRG fulfilled their goal of getting victories against FURIA and EG, respectively.

Sentinels still hope to qualify for the tournament playoffs with this victory, but they depend on other results and practically a miracle to achieve it. NRG, on the other hand, have already secured their place in the VCT Americas playoffs and are also in third place in the standings.

FURIA and EG are in the same situation as Sentinels, as they must wait to see what will happen in the 100T match to define their future in the tournament.

Let’s look at what happened on the first day of the last week of the VCT Americas.

Sentinels keep their hopes alive with a 2-1 win over FURIA

Sentinels continue to row against the current, and now, with this victory over FURIA, they have managed to confirm that they are at their best. Although the team depends on a miracle to advance to the tournament playoffs, the team should be completely satisfied with the 180° turnaround of the lineup in the last few games they have played.

This series between Sentinels and FURIA was played in Split (SEN), Haven (FURIA), and Bind (decider).

Split

It all started at Sentinels’ map pick, Split, where young star Zachary “zekken” Patrone stepped up to lead his team to victory. In the first half, FURIA won the first two rounds on their defensive side. However, Sentinels struck back immediately and cruised to a 9-3 partial victory.

In the second half, FURIA started very strong again, and they managed to put the score 10-7, but, just like in the first half, Sentinels reacted and got a 13-7 victory.

Haven

In Haven, FURIA taught how to play this iconic VALORANT map. This time, the Sentinels guys managed to win the first two rounds on their attacking side. After that, however, FURIA, led by Douglas “dgzin” Silva, took a comfortable 8-4 partial victory.

In the second half, FURIA implemented an extremely solid defense that was practically impossible for the North Americans to penetrate. In the end, the Brazilians took the victory by 13-5, thus evening the series 1-1.

Bind

Finally, it all came down to Bind, where both teams gave us a truly great game in every sense of the word.

Just watching the first half, which ended with a score of 6-6, we noticed that it would be an intense and exciting map. Both teams showed all their qualities and capabilities in this game, but Sentinels managed to take the victory after many rounds of Overtime, as the game ended with a score of 19-17.

NRG crush Evil Geniuses and consolidated third place in the table

NRG got a solid 2-0 victory over Evil Geniuses to secure third place in the table and leave the boys from EG in intensive care.

The series was played in Bind (NRG) and Split (EG).

Bind

It all started in Bind, on the map pick of NRG, and we enjoyed a great level of play from both teams. In the first half, Evil Geniuses crushed NRG on their defensive side, as they managed a resounding 8-4 win. However, in the change of sides, NRG woke up, and in what a way, the boys put up a spectacular defense and managed to win nine of the ten rounds played to take a solid 13-9 victory.

Split

Then we had a slightly more balanced match in EG’s map pick, Split, as NRG Esports managed to take the win in the first half by 7-5. Austin “crashies” Roberts continues to prove his high level in the VALORANT NA scene and leads NRG to victory on this map.

In the second half, in addition to crashies, Victor “Victor” Wong stopped EG’s offenses to seal NRG’s victory with a score of 13-7.
