Valve’s hard hand against cheaters in Dota 2 continues. After all, they have banned 46 professional players from the Chinese region and SEA because they “violated the principle of fair play.”. It is important to note that they include some players from the Chinese team Knights, which has had a very complicated few months due to different accusations.

Valve’s Chinese partner publisher, Perfect World, announced a new wave of bans on professional players from the Chinese and Southeast Asian region a few hours ago. It is worth noting that, of these 46 banned pros, 21 are banned for life from the Dota 2 circuit, while the other half have a temporary ban. Unfortunately, the players cannot participate in Valve and Perfect World events.

Players banned for life by Valve

The 21 players Valve banned include well-known professionals in the Chinese Dota 2 scene, while some belong to Division II. It is worth noting the players of the Chinese team Knights, which had been the subject of many allegations of match-fixing and cheating in recent months.

Their “Flyby” Lei, a former Knights player, heads this list of players banned for life by Valve. Flyby is a well-known player in the scene, as he has participated in different TIs and even finished in the top six in TI4, playing under the LGD banner.

Another well-known player in the SEA scene is Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew, who became popular for playing in major teams such as Geek Fam and Galaxy Racer SEA. Besides AlaCrity, another Malaysian player, Chong “FelixCiaoBa” Wei Lun, who has been part of the Chinese RNG lineup, is also on the list.

Below, we will show the list of the 21 players banned for life by Valve in this new wave of bans in Dota 2.

Temporarily banned players

The remaining 25 players on this list were banned for one to two years from the competitive scene of Dota 2. In addition, this time was most likely due to the players’ involvement in match-fixing or cheating. However, these may not be directly involved in the cases, but they probably had some knowledge of the situation and ignored it.

This wave of bans affects Division II of the DPC

There is no doubt that the main affected in all this is the DPC Division II. This is because most of these banned players belong to five teams in the second division of the circuit.

The teams that are most affected are:

  • ex-Knights (Antarctic Penguins)
  • EHOME
  • ex-Dawn Gaming (Solitude)
  • ex-LBZS (Kylin Esports Club)
  • Mystique

Recently, Valve issued a wave of bans affecting numerous players from Eastern Europe (EEU). Among them was young player Kamil “Koma`” Biktimirov, who was to compete with Virtus.pro during the inaugural DPC season. Therefore, it is up to Valve to eradicate match-fixing, cheating, and account-sharing cases as soon as possible in the esports market.
