Before the VALORANT Champions Tour North America Stage Three gets underway, Evil Geniuses has announced a host of roster changes. Daniel “roca” Gustaferri, Brandon “Branted” Ballard and Mike “Pho” Panza have joined the team, with the trio set to line up alongside Christine “potter” Chi and Nolan “Temperature” Pepper.
Speaking on the announcement, the organization stated that “we believe we have assembled a team that can adapt with the evolving VALORANT meta.” The news means that Evil Geniuses has parted company with Aleksandar Hinojosa, Claudia “Clawdia” Che and Roman “Osias” Javelona. The trio had been part of the org’s VALORANT roster since it was formed back in January. Potter is now also the only female pro left on the team.

What Evil Geniuses has said on the roster changes

Evil Geniuses general manager, Andrew Barton, discussed the changes in an official statement, saying that: “Based on our team’s performance over the first two stages of VCT, we felt changes were necessary to progress towards the level of success expected at EG. As members of our inaugural VALORANT roster Aleksandar, Clawdia, and Osias will always have our thanks and appreciation for their commitment and hard work.

“Moving forward, after significant scouting, trialing, and testing, we believe we have assembled a team that can adapt with the evolving VALORANT meta. We are thrilled to introduce the newest Evil Geniuses to fans and to see them compete in VCT.”

When will we see the new Evil Geniuses Lineup in action?

The new look Evil Geniuses roster will make its debut against Able Esports on Tuesday, a match which is part of the Nerd Street Gamers Summer Championship June qualifiers. The team will then move on to compete in the VCT Stage Three Open qualifiers, which get underway over the weekend. Head Coach Jimmy “LiN” Lin will remain as head coach, with the pressure mounting on the former CS:GO pro to deliver the goods.
Evil Geniuses recently finished 3rd-4th at the NSG: Summer Championship – Open 3, having ultimately been eliminated by Renegades.
