They’ve scratched teams off the list in the intense first OFF//SEASON tournament that took place in Chengdu. It is Paper Rex (PRX) that ruled and conquered the Valorant Radiant Asia Invitational 2024 against all 8 gathered teams. Certainly, they’ve shown heart and passion that led to their dominance against squads from the Pacific and China. Here’s everything that unfolds in the beginning of the Valorant Asia OFF//SEASON tournament.
A Hard-Fought Victory: PRX’s Path to the Championship
It was Paper Rex (PRX) that earned every victory with the heart of the champs that took home the Radiant Asia Invitational 2024 title. Early in the tournament, they tumbled lightly in the group stage and accomplished a 2-1 record. But they showed incredible resiliency as they stood firm in their match against EDward Gaming.
They claimed the 2-1 victory that began their run for the rest of the tournament. Eventually, PRX stepped on the grand finals stage, daring their opponent DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) in a skill showdown. Previously, DFM pushed back PRX from the upper bracket final to take the longer route.
PRX maintained composure and served an impressive comeback in their grand finals performance. They clinched the very desired championship win in a 3-1 series against DFM across the five maps.
Map-by-Map Breakdown: Brilliance on Display
Every map has their own charming points that set battles unique. PRX and DFM played the grand finals match across five maps before concluding PRX as the champion. Both teams entered the Ascent where PRX stood out for their adaptability. They easily overcame the early 9-4 deficit set by opponents before ending the match in 13-10.
However, the fuel might have run out for Haven as DFM pulled a dominating win against them. This tied the series at 1-1, leaving the third game to be the fate teller of the tournament. As Abyss came, the Indonesian player mindfreak amazingly performed with his 19-3 kill-death ratio. It secured PRX their second win in the series and took a step forward against DFM. After the 13-2 victory, PRX teamwork came through to make a commanding finish of the series.
The Players That Carried Pride
Many names may go by, yet only a few will make their mark. It is Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto that performed once again for Paper Rex and was hailed as tournament MVP. The leader played his role well to make the gameplay work for the team. Besides him, Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee delivered exceptional support by keeping a 210 average combat score in finals.
