Summary:
- Multi-Factor Authentication implementation helps protect player accounts and ensures that competitive matches reflect true skill.
- Interactive objects now respond more reliably, with visual cues and prioritization for smoother in-game interactions.
The Valorant Patch 11.09 is here for a better competitive experience, reduced smurfing, improved maps and Agents gameplay. Riot has a new system called MFA, this strengthens account security and ensures you a fair matchmaking.
Stronger Protections Against Account Sharing
Riot introduces new measures targeting account sharing in key regions in the new update. You will need to enable MFA to access Competitive Mode if you’re sharing accounts in NA, LATAM, KR, BR. With this change, Riot clearly aims to reduce smurfing and boosting, while other modes remain unaffected.
The detection system will flag suspicious behavior and accounts failing to activate MFA will be restricted. This ensures that competitive matches reflect true player skill rather than borrowed ranks or purchased accounts. These requirements will soon expand to all higher-ranked players to make consistent standards across higher tier of play.
Riot’s Continued Crackdown on Smurfing
You can now report smurfing players under “Rank Manipulation” to support community involvement. Combining reports and MFA, boosting and account sharing will be inconvenient and unprofitable. Continuing Riot’s anti-smurf initiative, they penalize players who boost or share accounts.
Since this has been a long-standing focus for the developers, most severe cases can result in outright bans. While, repeat offenders may face temporary restrictions.
Streamlined Object Interactions
You can now have better control over in-game objects since they also refined gameplay. Whether defusing Spike, grabbing an Ultimate Orb, or interacting with environmental elements, the “Use Object” key now responds more reliably.
They also change the usable items’ color with a unified green highlight for you to spot items easier. Whether it is a switch, ropes, ziplines, or orbs. This ensures the game correctly registers the intended action when multiple interactions are possible, using a system called prioritization.
