VALORANT Mobile Set for Chinese Closed Beta This Week

fragster 10. June 2025

VALORANT Mobile is getting close to its first test run in China, as Riot Games plans to start the closed beta sometime between June 13 and 15, 2025. Andy Ho, the executive producer of VALORANT, said this in a recent developer update video, where he explained how surprising it is to see the mobile version become a reality only five years after the game’s original PC launch back in 2020.

Pre-registration is still live in China, and those who are selected will get to try the game early before it’s out. Also, by finishing in-game missions, beta testers will get access to rewards, like a special player card featuring Wingman.

Valorant Mobile Device Requirements and Compatibility

Riot didn’t say the full specs officially, but a leaker, going by @ValorantMobileX, has already posted the information online.

For Android phones, the game is supposed to run on devices with at least a Snapdragon 450, MediaTek P60, or Kirin 710 processor. Android version 5.0 or higher is needed, with 3GB RAM or more and a minimum of 16GB storage space. On iPhones, it will support models from iPhone 6s and up, with iOS 12+ and also 16GB free storage.

Lightspeed Studio Working with Riot

The development of VALORANT Mobile is not just by Riot, but also involves Lightspeed Studios, who are known for mobile hits like PUBG Mobile, Peacekeeper Elite, and League of Legends: Wild Rift. During the update video, developers from Lightspeed spoke about the making of the mobile version and even showed some in-game content.

They said some changes had to be made to fit smaller screens and touchscreen controls, but most of VALORANT’s core gameplay and style still remained the same. The focus is to make sure it plays good on phones without losing the original game feel.

OnePlus Joins with TJ Sports for Esports Plans

Sooner than everyone could expect, TJ Sports—which is the joint venture by Riot and Tencent—teamed up with smartphone company OnePlus to support VALORANT Mobile esports in China. This news came during the launch of the OnePlus Ace 5 series, where Bobby Jin, head of VALORANT Mobile’s publishing and esports in China, talked about what’s next.

The partnership will include support for tournaments, marketing efforts, and tech collaboration. OnePlus Ace 5 Pro will become the official phone for VALORANT Mobile community tournaments in the second half of 2025. It will also be used during the Shanghai playtest event in June and the Qingdao competition scheduled for July.

Worth pointing out that OnePlus already works with China’s top Peacekeeper Elite league, the PEL. Both Peacekeeper Elite and VALORANT Mobile are FPS games, so OnePlus seems to be using its past experience in competitive mobile gaming.

As the closed beta approaches, Riot Games continues its push to bring one of its biggest titles to mobile players. With help from Lightspeed Studios and new esports support from OnePlus, the mobile version of VALORANT is moving forward faster than expected.

Global pre‑registration for VALORANT Mobile has not yet opened, and how the beta goes in China could influence future plans. If things go smoothly, VALORANT Mobile could end up being one of the next big names in competitive mobile gaming.
