The first Grand Finalist for VALORANT Masters Toronto has now been confirmed, and it’s none other than Paper Rex from the Pacific region, who defeated Wolves Esports with a strong 2-0 win in the upper bracket final. On the other side, Fnatic managed to knock out G2 Esports and will now get one more chance in the lower bracket final. There, they go up against Wolves to fight for the last spot in the Grand Final.
Paper Rex overcame Wolves to grab the grand final spot
The Singaporean team continued to show why they’re one of the top teams internationally, as they managed a clean 2-0 against Wolves Esports in the upper finals. First map, Lotus was a close one. Wolves came out looking stronger, even finishing the first half with a 7-5 lead on attack. But after that, Paper Rex turned it around. Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee played some really solid rounds, especially with an ace that flipped the pace. In overtime, PRX held firm and took it 14-12.

The second map was Ascent, and there was less resistance. Wolves did try to make early moves, but Ilya “something” Petrov’s control as Jett in defense was too much. He had 13 kills just in the first half, and Paper Rex never really let Wolves catch momentum after that. Wolves did save one match point, but couldn’t stop PRX from ending the map 13-8.
This puts Paper Rex into their third international final, and they still haven’t lost a map at this event. Also, their win here gives them a map veto advantage in the grand finals, which could prove important later.
Fnatic take out G2 to stay in the race
Earlier on, Fnatic managed to knock G2 Esports out of the tournament with a 2-0 scoreline in the lower bracket semifinal. With that loss, all of the Americas teams are now officially out. Interestingly, this matchup was a rematch of their Champions 2024 meeting, which Fnatic also won.

They started things off on Lotus—G2’s pick. G2 had some good reads in the beginning and even stole an Operator early, which helped a bit. But they couldn’t really keep the pressure on. Fnatic grew into the game, using late executes and catching G2 off guard. Chronicle and Alfajer stepped up with big kills when it mattered most. They closed the map 13-10.
Next up was Split, picked by Fnatic. G2 again picked up both pistol rounds and seemed like they could push it further, but Fnatic’s defense proved way too solid. Kaajak had a few big impact plays, and Alfajer was winning early fights. Even though some of their attack rounds dragged the timer a bit close, Fnatic kept calm and won another 13-10.
Wolves vs Fnatic: Last shot at a finals berth
Now, Wolves Esports have one last chance left to turn things around. Despite falling to Paper Rex, they still remain in contention, with one more challenge ahead—Fnatic.
Fnatic, on the other hand, is looking fired up. They just beat Sentinels and G2 back to back, and the team is clearly finding rhythm at the right time. This lower bracket final will be a best-of-five, and it’s set to take place today, June 21, at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST / 6 PM BST.
Whoever wins this match will advance to the Grand Final and take on Paper Rex, who, so far, has yet to lose a single map during the entire tournament. The pressure’s on, and only one team will make it through.
As the VALORANT Masters Toronto nears its conclusion, fans are already gearing up for the Valorant Esports World Cup 2025, which promises even higher stakes and global competition.
