Things are heating up fast in VALORANT Masters Toronto, with Day 2 showing both a nail-biter and a complete blowout. Sentinels got their first win, but it wasn’t as easy as many expected, while Gen.G cruised past MIBR with very little resistance.
VALORANT Masters Toronto Day 2 Recap
Sentinels Face Unexpected Trouble Against Wolves Esports
Although Sentinels were seen as favorites against Wolves Esports from China, the reality on the server told a different story, especially on Split. Wolves had good reads early and caught Sentinels off-guard with fast starts and some heroic clutches. They even ended the first half up 8-4, which surprised many.

Sentinels started rough, with early mistakes and slow comms. As johnqt said, “We just needed to settle in. Once we got some rounds going, we could play our style better.” They won the second pistol round, and then momentum shifted quickly. N4RRATE and bang started clicking and pushed hard to close the gap.
Even when Wolves tried to hold back the lead, Sentinels looked more in control by the end. The game went to 13-11 in Sentinels’ favor, but it definitely wasn’t easy. SiuFatBB had some big plays, including a Sheriff 1v2, but it wasn’t enough to force OT.
On Lotus, the match had a different feeling. Sentinels used Vyse instead of Killjoy and were very solid on defense. Their utility slowed down Wolves a lot, and they took advantage with smart retakes and good positioning. The first half ended 9-3, showing just how dominant Sentinels became after Split.
Wolves made a small comeback after switching sides, but never fully recovered. Juicy tried to spark some energy with the pistol win, but they couldn’t convert enough after that. Sentinels wrapped up the map 13-8 and walked away with a clean 2-0, even if it didn’t feel like one.
Gen.G Shuts Down MIBR With Total Control
While the first match gave fans a tight contest, the second was the opposite. Gen.G from Pacific came in prepared, surprising MIBR with an unusual team comp on Lotus using Deadlock and two controllers. That surprise alone gave them early momentum, but their mechanics was also top tier.

Gen.G controlled space, won key duels, and didn’t allow MIBR to find any rhythm. Even when Verno showed some sparks on Sova, MIBR couldn’t turn those into multiple rounds. Gen.G closed the first map 13-5 with hardly any issues.
The second map, Haven, was worse for MIBR. Gen.G ran their usual setup this time, but were just too strong all around. Ash had one of his best performances yet, landing shots everywhere. MIBR only got one round, and Gen.G closed it 13-1, a crushing defeat that will sting for a while.
Next Matches Set for Swiss Stage Round Two
Now that the opening matches are done, teams have been slotted into the High and Low brackets. Sentinels and Gen.G will play on June 9, needing just one more win to reach the playoffs. Sentinels will go up against Bilibili Gaming, while Gen.G meets Paper Rex.
In the lower bracket, Wolves Esports will face Team Heretics, and MIBR will try to bounce back against Team Liquid, who now have their IGL nAts back after resolving visa delays. These elimination matches are scheduled for June 10, and both losing teams will be knocked out.
