The Swiss Stage at VALORANT Masters Toronto 2025 wrapped up with Wolves Esports from China and Pacific’s Paper Rex becoming the final two squads to book their place in the playoffs. They each knocked out strong teams—Bilibili Gaming and Team Liquid—to make it through, showing why they are still not done fighting.
Wolves Got Revenge On BLG To Qualify
Day 5 opened with a matchup between two Chinese teams: Wolves Esports and Bilibili Gaming. These two already faced back during Stage 1 Lower Bracket Final, where BLG had a one-sided 3-0 win. But this time, the result flipped completely as Wolves came prepared and took the 2-0 sweep.
On Ascent, which was the first map, Wolves surprised with Cypher and Deadlock pick on defense. They got early rounds, and even though BLG’s attack worked at times, Wolves didn’t let them build up momentum. In the second half, their B executes were too sharp, and they won 13-5.

Split was picked by Wolves themselves. Known for Viper on that map, they changed things up by walling off A side instead of the usual B. It messed with BLG’s reads and gave Wolves control. Even with BLG taking pistol rounds again, Wolves punished mistakes and ran away with it 13-10. Spring kept up his good form, finishing with 38 kills. He’s been their best player in Toronto for sure.
Paper Rex Survive After Liquid Nearly Flip the Script
The last Swiss match turned out to be a thriller between Paper Rex and Team Liquid, with everything going to the wire, after three intense maps, including two going into overtime—PRX barely held on to reach the playoffs.
It started in Split, PRX’s pick. They got up to 12-8, playing with confidence while Liquid used a six-man lineup. But Liquid is not giving up. A smart Yoru fake from Kamo and a huge ace by Keiko helped force OT. Liquid took the map 15-13 and looked fired up.
Next came Sunset, Liquid’s pick. But PRX didn’t let nerves show. With a different comp, including Sage, they played solid defense and kept Liquid from getting anything started. A dominant 13-5 win showed that PRX is still in control of the series.

Then Lotus came, the decider. PRX came out flying and smashed the first half, 11-1. It felt like game over. But Liquid had other plans. With penny subbing in, they started crawling back. Round after round, they built the comeback. PRX looked lost at points, with the score eventually tied 12-12. Coach Alecks later said, “We were trying to end fast, but then it turned really scary.” After a timeout, PRX pulled themselves together and squeezed out a 14-12 win. Jinggg made the difference too, stepping up whenever the team needed clutch plays.
