British Esports organization Guild Esports has made further changes to its VALORANT roster. Having already parted ways with William “draken” Sundin, Guild has announced that both Yacine “Yacine” Laghmari and Malkolm “bonkar” Rench have also left, leaving the org with just two active roster members.

As a result, Guild will focus their roster rebuild around Leo “Leo” Jannesson and Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel, with the duo having practiced with the team following their elimination from the VAORANT Champions Tour EMEA Last Chance Qualifier in October, alongside three other players. It appears likely that both bonkar and Laghmari will find themselves new organizations. However, they are free to be reinstated to the Guild Esports roster until then. It has been a period of change for Guild, despite a relatively successful season in the European VALORANT scene.

Why Guild is Rebuilding Its VALORANT Roster

While Guild Esports failed to qualify for VALORANT Champions, the main event of the year, they did make a lasting impression thanks to victories over some of the biggest names in the region. One of their most impressive wins came over G2 Esports at the Last Chance Qualifier event, where Guild Esport also recorded some victories over Futbolist and Oxygen Esports.

Such wins then helped them reach the Grand Final, where they eventually came unstuck. Having lost 3-1, they were knocked out of the event, thus ending their VALORANT Champions Tour campaign. Guild Esports only entered the VALORANT scene in October last year, having acquired the Bonk roster, which was one of the best lineups around at the time.

Why Guild Has Enormous Potential

In their first few months of competition, Guild recorded defeats over some of Europe’s best, including FunPlus Phoenix, Ninjas in Pyjams and Fnatic. They went on to record several top four finishes. However, their opening VALORANT title has so far alluded them. They then also missed out on qualifying for the VCT Masters, having finished outside of the top four and the placement positions.

Andre “BARBARR” Moller remains in charge of the team as head coach, with further announcements regarding Guild Esport’s VALORANT roster expected over the coming weeks. With Janesson and Sayf on board, the org has a good platform to build upon. Guild Esports lists soccer legend David Beckham as one of its co-owners, with fellow Brit Grant Rousseau being the org’s Director of Esports. Guild also competes in Rocket League, Fortnite and FIFA.
