Valorant – Former Fnatic pro Moe40 joins Excel Esports

British organization Excel Esports has made changes to its VALORANT lineup, with Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff having been signed. The ex-Fnatic player had been playing for NoPoaching, with the 20-year-old having made his name with SUMN FC last year.

Moe40 is not the only new name at Excel however, with Ruben “RUBINO” Villarroel Brødreskift having also arrived. The Norwegian/Chilean pro had been a free agent following his departure from Team Heretics back in May.

The duo will team up with Vincent “Happy” Cervoni Schopenhauer, Marc “Honeybee” Begley and Alend “Ale” Khalaf at Excel, who recently parted ways with in-game leader David “Davidp” Prins, as well as Morgan “B1GGY” Madour. Both players will be free agents and looking for new teams.

Speaking on the departures of the duo, Excel Esports posted the following message on Twitter: “We’d like to thank @Davidp_ & @B1GGY_ for embarking on this journey with us. All the best for the future.”

Such roster changes come after what Excel co-founder and Chief Gaming Officer, Kieran Holmes-Darby, described as “the team not improving at a quick enough rate to compete at the highest level”. Speaking on the arrivals of Moe40 and RUBINHO, Holmes-Darby stated that:

“Rubino brings a wealth of experience to the roster, having previously competed at the highest level in Counter-Strike and is a great personality to have in the team. Moe is an incredibly talented player who has already accomplished a lot in Valorant and we believe he still has room to grow with the experience around him in this roster.”

How will the new look Excel roster fare?

Following the changes, Happy will become Excel’s in-game leader, a move that was put down to “his level of understanding of how to play the game and his ability to share his vast winning experience with the team”. Excel will be hoping to compete the highest level of the European VALORANT scene, with a first major tournament win seemingly not being too far away.

Excel entered the VALORANT scene back in March, with the team having finished 2nd at the VALORANT Open Tour: France – Spring Qualifier last month. The switches from Excel come shortly after Team Heretics announced the arrival of “Monsteerr” from LDN UTD.
