The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team Evil Geniuses may part ways with one of the most veteran players in the organization.

According to different reports on social networks, the team would not have presented Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov in its lineup for the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 event; in addition, they are looking to replace him as soon as possible.

The Tweet points out that:

“The 23-year-old Bulgarian sharpshooter is not on his team’s roster for the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023.”

It is not yet known who might replace CeRq

At the moment, there is still no information regarding which player will be in charge of replacing CeRq in Evil Geniuses during the first tournament of the year.

However, other reports indicate that EG has included Jerric “wiz” Jiang, Jeorge “jeorgesnorts” Endicott, and Wesley “wiz” Harris in its lineup for the upcoming event.

CeRq was the main AWPer of the starting lineup of CS:GO’s Evil Geniuses, so the organization is likely looking for a player in this role to replace him. That is why rumors point to wiz, a great candidate for EG.

Likewise, these AWPer duties could be transferred to another player on the team, and they could take advantage of reinforcing another area of the lineup. In this case, the best option would be Timothy “autimatic” Ta.

About CeRq

CeRq is a Bulgarian player who stormed the competitive CS:GO scene in 2016 under the WinFiction banner. After several months in the organization, he decided to make his way to Outlaws, where he played for over a year.

After that, CeRq became one of the mainstays of NRG Esports during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons. Thanks to his spectacular performances on the team, the famous North American organization, Evil Geniuses took notice of him and decided to sign him in September 2019.

Since then, CeRq has been part of EG’s core of players, who have achieved different major S-Level trophies.

CeRq is one of EG’s most veteran players

As mentioned, CeRq is one of the most veteran players on the team, along with Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte. This pair of players joined EG in 2019 when the organization decided to acquire them from the NRG Esports lineup.

Undoubtedly, the 23-year-old Bulgarian has been one of the team’s most important players, managing to take home ESL One New York 2019 and StarSeries i-League Season 8 in the Fall of 2019.

The last few years have been challenging for CeRq after he peaked in 2019 when he became the 18th-best player in the world, according to HLTV.

The lineup that will take Evil Geniuses to the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 would be:

  • Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • Sanjar “neaLan” İshakov
  • Jadan “HexT” Postma
  • Jerric “wiz” Jiang
  • Wesley “viz” Harris
  • Jeorge “jeorgesnorts” Endicott
  • Daniel “vorborg” Vorborg (Head Coach)

The BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 will kick off the new season on January 19. It will feature 12 teams associated with BLAST, with six Spring Finals berths up for grabs.
