According to solid rumors published in Sports Business Journal, one of the most popular organizations in North America, Team SoloMid, will leave the Rainbow Six Siege competitive scene and the North American League (NAL).

This news was announced just one year after TSM won the championship trophy. Recall that TSM took home the hammer from last season’s Six Invitational, as it is known in Rainbow Six Siege. As a result, the team is leaving the North American scene and the game.

According to reports, TSM has already notified Siege and Ubisoft

TSM is one of North America’s only profitable esports organizations with teams in games like League of Legends, Apex Legends, or Valorant. The R6 creator and tournament director, Ubisoft, was informed of the decision to depart the league yesterday.

The Sports Business Journal’s Hunter Cooke claims this news was made during a TSM meeting with Siege and Ubisoft.

The news is still surprising

This is an unexpected choice for the clubs, the fans, and the players. But, as we mentioned, TSM was coming off winning the 2022 Six Invitational in Stockholm and took home a $1,000,000 prize.

TSM appeared on the scene in 2019. During this time, the North American team made several changes in the composition, but at the same time, managed to become one of the main forces on the world stage

TSM’s 2022 season was not all bad, main thanks to the performance of Matthew “Achieved” Solomon and young Jason “Beaulo” Doty. However, the results at the end of the season were not as expected, and the team fell far short of repeating the success. In addition, TSM finished very close to the leaderboard during the two NAL legs and failed to seal their ticket to the 2023 Six Invitational.

At the end of 2022, TSM superstar Beaulo announced his retirement at 21 to devote his full time to content creation. Regarding the rest of the team’s roster, the players’ future is still unknown in light of the organization’s imminent departure from the scene.

Other TSM projects

Currently, TSM is one of the top LCS squads in North America. In addition, they also have a good team in VALORANT, Apex Legends, and Dota 2. Moreover, they have recently announced their plans to return to CS:GO in October and will be re-hiring a GM for this division.

Information was unable to determine whether TSM’s exit from the R6 scene was related to their return to CS:GO or the collapse of their $210 million deal with cryptocurrency platform FTX. The structure has not yet given any indication on this issue.
