TSM announced they will also be going into the new season with some major changes in their roster. The team’s former in-game captain and support player David “MoonMeander” Tan will be stepping down from active play.

However, he will be switching into the coaching role, but with the departure of their other support player Kim “DuBu” Doo-young back in November, the team has been looking for two new support players to finalise their roster for the upcoming DPC season. With less than a week left for the roster shuffle for the upcoming DPC season. TSM has announced their new support players today.

The new players

Former T1’s player Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon will be playing as the new position 5 player for TSM. With T1’s recent departure from the professional DOTA 2 scene earlier this month, most of its former players have pursued new opportunities. The same can also be for Whitemon as he has also found another opportunity outside of his region. This will also be the very first time Whitemon has played outside of his region as he will now be playing for TSM for the upcoming DPC season.

As for the position 4 player, TSM have taken a new approach and have given an opportunity to Mathew “Ari” Walker who is an upcoming support player. He is a former professional Heroes Of The Storm player who switched to DOTA 2 back in 2019. His first ever rank calibration was at 9K MMR and he climbed to 11K MMR milestone during this year. Moreover, he helped his former team Into The Breach get promoted to Division I when he first debuted in the WEU DPC Tour 3 but the team fell short during The International 2022 regional qualifiers as Team Secret took the crucial win against them to advance to The Last Chance qualifiers.

Hopefully not the repeated past

TSM came into the professional DOTA 2 scene by acquiring the former Team Undying players and their team’s slot in Division 1 after the end of NA DPC 2021-2022 Tour 1.  Their debut to the competitive DOTA 2 was promising as they dominated their regional scene, even coming up on top against their regional rivals Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew. They qualified for The Stockholm Major following the Tour 2 and even placed 2nd in the Major just falling short to OG. Even though they displayed consistent performance in their region, the team’s performance started to fall off when it came to the international tournaments that followed. During their run at The International 2022, they were eliminated at the group stage just placing 17th-20th place finish. The team’s new coach David “MoonMeander” Tan has said in a recent interview with BTS Pro Series S13 that the announcement for the TSM roster shuffle is not finished yet and this is just “appetiser” and the “main course” will come later.
