Current Insights

The Trigun STAMPEDE reboot by Studio Orange aired 25 years after its predecessor, streaming on Crunchyroll during Winter 2023. Consisting of 13 episodes from January to March, it amalgamated aspects from both the original Trigun series and the creator’s original vision. Positioned as a prequel to the significant happenings in the 1998 anime, a sequel titled Trigun STARGAZE was announced post the final episode. Details regarding the release of Trigun STARGAZE remain undisclosed, but it is confirmed that Crunchyroll will stream it when ready.

The adaptation brings to life Yasuhiro Nightow’s beloved sci-fi manga, originally serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Captain magazine. After the magazine concluded publication in December 1996, the series was extended in Trigun Maximum in Shōnen Gahosha Young King OURs magazine. The new rendition, helmed by Kenji Mutō and featuring updated character designs by Kōji Tajima, retains the essence of the original while infusing modern elements.

Key characters include journalists Meryl Stryfe and her mentor Roberto DeNiro, who delve into the enigma surrounding Vash The Stampede. Despite his pacifist nature, Vash has an enormous bounty on his head. Their journey inadvertently leads them to confront Vash’s malevolent twin, Millions Knives.
