Transfer Rumor: Legacy benches its IGL ahead of PGL Cluj-Napoca

The turbulent start to the 2026 season appears to be forcing changes within one of last year’s breakout teams.

According to a report from Dust2 Brasil, Brazilian top team Legacy has decided to part ways with its in-game leader Lucas Christofoletti “lux” Meneghini. The move takes effect immediately and will see the team attend the upcoming Tier-1 event PGL Cluj-Napoca with head coach Bruno “RiVAS” Rivetti stepping in as a stand-in player.

The decision comes as a surprise given Legacy’s impressive 2025 campaign. Over the past year, the roster climbed the international rankings with a Stage 3 appearance at the Austin Major, a title win at the CS Asia Championships, and a runner-up finish at PGL Bucharest. Those results firmly established Legacy as a rising force in the global CS2 scene.

However, momentum stalled at the start of 2026. Legacy struggled to convert strong expectations into results at domestic LAN events and endured a particularly rough showing at IEM Krakow, where back-to-back losses sent them crashing out in last place. The dip in form appears to have accelerated internal discussions about leadership and structure within the team.

Legacy is currently bootcamping in Serbia before traveling to Romania for PGL Cluj-Napoca, which kicks off on February 14. Whether the temporary solution behind the scenes will stabilize the roster – or signal deeper changes to come – remains one of the tournament’s most intriguing storylines.

Legacy’s current lineup:

  • Eduardo “dumau” Volkmer
  • Bruno “latto” Rebelatto
  • Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira
  • Guilherme “saadzin” Pacheco
  • Bruno “RiVAS” Rivetti (stand-in, coach)
