Gen.G has announced the signing of top laner Noh “Burdol” Tae-yoon, with the former T1 Academy player having joined their League of Legends roster ahead of the upcoming season. The organization revealed that the 17-year-old would initially act as a substitute, alongside Rascal in the top lane.

The teenager joined T1, when they were still known as SK Telekom T1, back in May 2019, quickly catching the eye in the solo queue. In fact, Burdol achieved a no.1 ranking on the Korean ladder just two months after his arrival. Tae-yoon was regarded as one of the best young talents in the T1 Academy, with many having expected him to be promoted to their main roster, before a rival acquired his services.

What Burdol Can Bring to Gen.G

Comparisons have already been drawn with current T1 top laner Kim “Canna” Chang-dong, who achieved big things in his debut season. If Burdol can put in performances anywhere near that level, then Gen.G could well be one of the leading contenders in the LCK for the upcoming season. Gen.G has made the decision to retain five of its corer players from last year, with the lineup having reached the quarter finals of the World Championship.
Burdol, Sung “Flawless” Yeong-jun and Kim “Karis” Hong-jo are the only new players to have arrived at Gen.G, with the trio expected to act as substitutes. Having a roster full of such talent will help the organization in working out strategies and improving their skills, with rookies often giving teams’ the boost they needed.

How the Gen.G Lineup Looks Ahead of the New Season

The Gen.G starting lineup is expected to be made up by jungler Kim “Clid” Tae-min, mid lane Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong, bot laner Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and support Kim “Life” Jeong-min. Meanwhile, the team will be lead by head coach Ju “oDin” Yeong-dal, who has been with the organization since May 2018. Having joined Gen.G at the same time as oDin, Lee “FIFAHUN” Ji-hoon will remain as the team’s general manager.
