Top Hero Win Rate Improvements After Dota 2 Patch 7.36c

For some heroes, Dota 2 patch 7.36c was a great blessing. Anyone who spams Sven, Phantom Assassin, Sand King, Io, Arc Warden, and a dozen other heroes will likely gain MMR during this patch.

In this brief guide, you will discover the biggest buffs introduced by IceFrog in an attempt to make some of the most exciting heroes viable again.

Sven

Sven’s win rate has increased by 4.2%. That’s not bad at all but what do you think caused it? It’s very simple. Both of his facets, Heavy Plate and Wrath of God, received minor buffs.

The first one improves his Warcry a bit more than before, giving its physical barrier 240 points instead of 200 at level 4. The second one gives him a damage base reduction of just 20 instead of 25.

This hero already had amazing movement speed (325), excellent damage, cleave damage, and durability. With the latest buffs, he’s one of the most powerful carries in Dota 2 again.

Phantom Assassin

Valve

Phantom Assassin is the favorite hero of any Dota 2 carry player below 3000 MMR. Her damage bursts make her very satisfying to play. As long as you can survive the first 10-15 minutes, you’re well on your way to winning the game.

PA’s win rate has increased by 3.3% simply because her base damage was increased by 2 and her evasion was increased by 5% at level 1. Two tiny buffs on paper. But in the game, these buffs often result in a big advantage, especially during the first 5-10 minutes.

Sand King

Sand King also gained 3.3% thanks to his Sand Storm buffs. The ability itself was buffed by 15 damage. It also receives a huge buff from Dust Devil, one of the hero’s facets. When Sand King steps outside of his Sand Storm, its speed increases, becoming 125% of his movement speed.

Io

Io’s win rate has increased by 3.2%. This is the perfect example of what a change in the meta can do for a hero even if the hero itself has not received any buffs or nerfs. Io wasn’t touched by the latest patch but has gotten much better.

Arc Warden

Arc Warden’s win rate also moved up by 3% for no apparent reason, reaching an impressive 56.5%. This hero is now the most successful in Dota 2 and will need to get nerfed soon despite not being buffed at all recently.
