Season 5 in Call of Duty: Mobile has been changing a lot of things with the meta. Some guns that used to dominate aren’t sitting at the top anymore, and a few others just came out of nowhere to become popular. It’s not only the devs’ balancing that’s doing this—players discovering new loadouts and builds have really changed how certain weapons are being used. So, here are the five guns that are performing the best right now this season.
Top 5 Guns in COD Mobile Season 5
5. DRH

The DRH is still a strong choice for mid and long-range fights, but it has lost some rank compared to last season. Before, it was almost considered second-best. But now, it kind of feels overrated next to the newer guns people are picking more often. Interestingly, it didn’t actually get nerfed, so the drop isn’t because of a stat change—just that others are more effective now. It’s not very quick, but it does a great job at range. It can still land those four-shot kills even if you are hitting the lower body, and if you get lucky (or precise), it can two-shot with headshots, though that’s not really consistent.
Best For: Players who want reliability and solid performance at range.
4. Odin

Odin is not flashy, but it’s one of those guns that hits hard. It has that two-shot kill potential, and being full-auto makes it easier to handle than some of the semi-autos like SKS or Garand. Yes, the recoil’s kind of annoying sometimes, and the fire rate isn’t too fast, but skilled players can still wreck with it. Even without fancy blueprints, you’ll do fine. It had some slight attachment nerfs, but nothing that made it fall off.
Best For: Medium-range battles where aim and power matter more than spam.
3. Type 63

This one shot up fast. The Type 63 is now basically the strongest marksman rifle in the current season. It’s better than the SKS mostly because it handles quicker, offers more variation in builds, and the sights are just cleaner to use. It doesn’t always get that two-shot kill, but its rate of fire makes up for that. More and more players are using it as builds get improved.
Best For: Skilled players who want to hold longer-range lines with burst pressure.
2. VMP

VMP has been kind of a surprise. It’s becoming Season 5’s standout pick and climbing fast. If Fennec was wild before, think of this as a more stable version—less recoil, fewer downsides, but with more range. It hits 25 damage up close, and it usually only needs four hits unless you’re hitting the limbs a lot. Its fire rate’s not the fastest, but the damage makes up for it. Beats most other SMGs when it comes to movement, sprint time, and ADS. And with Black Ops-style attachments, it’s super flexible. If more and more players get better with this as they continue the grind, it might pass USS9 soon.
Best For: Aggressive players wanting speed and tight control up close or mid-range.
1. USS9

Still the king. The USS9 hasn’t really been nerfed in a meaningful way, and that’s helped it keep its #1 spot. People keep talking about whether it’s too strong, but even with some bullet spread adjustments last season, it hasn’t lost its grip on the top. It works well almost anywhere—indoors, outdoors, close-up, or a little further away. While the VMP is starting to challenge it in certain fights, USS9 is still better once you go beyond close quarters. The recoil’s easy to manage, and it shoots straight even when you’re moving.
Best For: Players needing a dependable, all-around weapon for any mode or playstyle.
Season 5 really stirred the pot when it comes to weapons. Some old ones are still holding on, but new names like VMP and Type 63 are pushing into that top bracket. Plus, with Overkill still being popular, people are running two strong guns at once, leading to all kinds of unexpected matchups. If you haven’t tried these five yet, this might be a good time to mix up your loadout and figure out what fits you best.
