Thunder Predator Reaches the Finals of ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas

ESL One Thailand 2020 Americas only has 3 more matches left to be played and Thunder Predator will be waiting for the winner of the Lower Bracket in the Finals. This is definitely a shocking outcome if we consider the Group Stage and the overall pecking order of the participants, in the grand scheme of things.

ESL One Thailand 2020 Americas Results

Initially, everyone expected Quincy Crew to be the winner, simply because of their roster and previous results. QC is widely regarded as the strongest in the Americas in the absence of Evil Geniuses. Whenever tournaments take place in the region, Quinn and his squad are there to win.

The Group Stage had 7 “match days”. Actually, each of these so-called match days consisted of two competitive days. And each day had 2 matches.

Initially, 4 Zoomers had a phenomenal start. They defeated Quincy Crew, beastcoast, and CR4ZY in their first 3 matches. Then they started to lose a lot of disputes in which they were regarded as the clear favorites. In particular, they lost against Thunder Predator. So in case of a Grand Final match disputed between these two teams, you should definitely know that Thunder Predator is the favorite.

In spite of having a slow start, Quincy Crew actually went on to win the Group Stage of ESL One Thailand 2020 Americas with 6 wins and just 1 loss. They were the big favorites going into the Playoffs, but 4 Zoomers defeated them in their very first Playoffs match, just like they did in the Group Stage. Having lost to them, Quincy Crew is now fighting for its survival in the Lower Bracket. If it wins, it will face 4 Zoomers for the 3^rd time in this tournament. The winner goes to the Grand Final.

By the looks of things, Quincy Crew should win the first round of the Lower Bracket against Infamous. But it won’t be easy. The Group Stage match between these two sides ended with a score of 2 – 1 in favor of Quincy, but every single game was really hard. Furthermore, Thunder Predator needed 3 games to win against them in the first match of the Upper Bracket.
