Who are the strongest within League of Legends’ mighty esports kingdom? The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) has consistently produced the best teams in competitive League of Legends, boasting especially the 5-time World Champions, T1.
The region is undeniably a cut above the rest, with only China’s league of Legends Pro League (LPL) to truly rival it. Among the teams under the LCK’s wing, several have been particular standouts this year, earning their spot in the top 5 strongest LCK teams in 2024.

T1
2024 roster: Choi “Zeus” Wooje, Mun “Oner” Hyeonjun, Lee “Faker” Sanghyeok, Lee “Gumayusi” Minhyung, Ryu “Keria” Minseok
The back-to-back 2023 and 2024 champions have put on amazing performances throughout the year, even with a rough Summer Split. Their massive comeback at the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) is enough to prove that they still are the best team in the LCK.
T1 particularly excels in early game positionings and coordinated teamfights, with midlaner Faker doing most of the perfect shotcalling. However, their insane clutch potential and superior objective control are also often what hits their opponents the hardest. T1’s individual players are already among the greatest in their respective roles. On top of that, the synergy they have maintained after staying together for three years seems to be unmatched.
Gen.G
2024 roster: Kim “Kiin” Giin, Kim “Canyon” Geonbu, Jeong “Chovy” Jihun, Kim “Peyz” Suhwan, Son “Lehends” Siwoo
Gen.G was LCK’s best representative to win Worlds 2024, coming off a dominant regular season and an MSI 2024 victory. Despite eventually falling to T1 in the Semifinals, Gen.G went out with a fierce fight. Their star-studded roster stayed consistent all throughout 2024, outclassing their opponents in domestic and international matches.
The famous LCK “domestic kings” are especially known for their macro game, unrivaled in the whole region. Its star lies with Chovy in the midlane, whose talent and potential hold great promise. Grouped with highly-skilled teammates, he was once again able to make Gen.G shine in 2024.
Hanwha Life Esports (HLE)
2024 roster: Choi “Doran” Hyeonjun, Han “Peanut” Wangho, Kim “Zeka” Geonwoo, Park “Viper” Dohyeon, Yoo “Delight” Hwanjoong
Another team that showed impressive clutch potential this year was HLE, who stole the LCK Summer Split title from Gen.G convincingly. The team has plenty of experience to boast coming from veteran player Peanut and two previous Worlds champions, Zeka and Viper.
Despite a fun playstyle that tends to catch opponents off-guard, HLE has also performed consistently in LCK, deserving the Summer Split championship title. Their impressive showing at Worlds that led them to a quarterfinals standing also earned them third in the top 5 strongest LCK teams in 2024.
Dplus KIA (DK)
2024 roster: Hwang “Kingen” Seonghoon, Choi “Lucid” Yonghyeok, Heo “Showmaker” Su, Kim “Aiming” Haram, Kim “Kellin” Hyeongyu, Jeong “Moham” Jaehun
Dplus KIA showed bright potential at the start of the season, with its roster a balance of veteran players and promising rookies. Breaking a losing streak, DK beat T1 in one of the most important LCK matches in the Regional Finals. This showcased just what the team is capable of, heading to Worlds 2024 as the third seed.
Showmaker has long been the core of DK, with monstrous performances as its midlaner since 2017. With the added skills from various experienced players and rising Challengers alike, it’s now wonder they were able to surpass expectations.
KT RTlster
2024 roster: Lee “PerfecT” Seungmin, Hong “Pyosik” Changheon, Gwak “Bdd” Boseong, Kim “Deft” Hyukkyu, Cho “BeryL” Geonhee
While unable to make it to Worlds, the pinnacle of LoL esports, KT Rolster still deserves to be called one of the top 5 LCK teams in 2024. The intense, bloody series between them and long-time “fated” rivals T1 in the Regional Finals was one for the history books.
KT Rolster has always established themselves as one of the serious contenders for LCK titles. The experience provided by Deft, who started in LoL esports just around the same time as Faker and has won the Summoner’s Cup in 2022, is just invaluable. This, coupled with Bdd in the midlane, further made the team stronger.
