On Saturday, April 2, the LCK Spring Finals will be held at the Goyang exhibition center, KINTEX. Korean League of Legends fans will be able to witness their home league’s final in person, for the first time after the 2019 finals.

The Goyang exhibition center is the same place that hosted the inaugural LCK Finals, where MiG Blaze has crowned the competition’s first champions in 2012 after defeating MiG Frost in a 3 match deciding series. In a press release on Thursday, the secretary-general of LCK, Aiden Le said

“We decided to host the finals at KINTEX because as we look towards the next 10 years of LCK, we wanted to pay tribute to the players, the fans, and the teams from those 10 years.”

KINTEX theatre has a seating capacity of almost 7,000 people, but the ticket details will be announced soon. Considering the increasing number of COVID-19 cases among the competing team and staff, LCK announced a special guideline for teams participating in the playoffs.

“While players who tested positive for COVID-19 were required to switch with the teams’ substitutes or Challengers League members, the infected players can still participate in playoff matches online from an isolated facility,”  LCK officials.

The LCK playoffs will be held at LoL Park in Jongno, central Seoul, on March 23 and 24. The playoffs will feature two matches, between third- and sixth-place teams and the fourth- and fifth-place teams and it will be the first time the audience will be witnessing live LCK action in three years.

Three teams will fight for the remaining two spots of the 2022 LCK Spring Playoffs.

T1, Gen.G, DRX, and DWG KIA have already qualified for the 2022 LCK Spring Playoffs. T1 is currently on a 16 match winning streak and in the first place. No matter what, they will finish the playoffs in the first place since they already won 16 matches in the group stage.

Even after the team was badly infected by covid Gen.G has maintained the second position in the points table. DRX is one game ahead of DWG KIA and is currently in the third position. At the bottom of the points table, Nongshim RedForce (4-12), Liiv SANDBOX (4-12), and Hanwha Life Esports (3-13) have already been eliminated from playoff contention and left 3 contenders for the last 2 spots.

The points table presently has Fredit Brion (7-10), Kt Rolster (7th), and Kwangdong Freecs (7-10) tied for 5th position but because of their personal scoreline, they are currently in 5th, 6th, and 7th positions, respectively. In the final week of the 2022 LCK Spring Split, these teams will compete for the final two playoff positions. Is there anything more thrilling than this?

Despite the fact that BRO, KT, and KDF are not pitted against each other in the last week, they will face different teams with various strengths and limitations. This could be a deciding factor in the qualification considering BRO is matched against DWG KIA and KT Rolster will face Gen G meanwhile KDF will fight against the team currently standing at the bottom of the LCK Spring Split, LIvv Sandbox.
