After a wave of teasers, it’s finally confirmed! Valve revealed the official location for The International 11, the ultimate event for the Dota 2 esports scene. The next Major tournament will be hosted in Singapore the first time in Southeast Asia.

Fans could figure out in advance that T11 will be held in Singapore based on multiple hints. Prior to the location reveal, the official Dota 2 Twitter account posted images of the game’s characters in places that resembled Asian culture and cities. Moreover, the text was written in a form of short Asian poetry.

The reveal happened on May 22, during the final matches of ESL One Stockholm Major 2022. Valve revealed that T11 would take place in October 2022, a similar timeframe compared to the previous edition of the event, which took in Bucharest, Romania. Organizers also revealed two venues of the event — Singapore’s Indoor Stadium and Suntec Arena.

Road to the International 11

The qualifying format won’t change compared to previous years. While 12 teams will receive direct invites to the event based on their Dota 2 Pro Circuit points during the 2021-22 season, six other squads will fight for the slots in regional qualifiers.

Before TI11, the teams will make an appearance on Arlington Major in August. Dota 2 fans have already made their predictions. According to the expectations of the community, among those squads that will definitely visit Singapore in October 2022 through direct invite are PSG.LGD and TSM FTX.
