Shortly after the launch of Season 7—The Divide—The Finals has gotten a fresh patch, Update 7.1.0. The goal with this one seems to be fixing up a handful of bugs and technical issues that started showing up after the last update. It’s not a huge overhaul, but it addresses a decent number of problems affecting gameplay and how smoothly things run.

The Finals Update 7.1.0: Full Patch Notes

Animation Update and Weapon Fixes

One of the animation bugs involving the SA1216’s “Ditch & Switch” reload has now been sorted out. The animation didn’t play right earlier, but it’s been changed to a proper “Reload Empty” animation and uses the right asset now. Players who lost access to this item when it was temporarily pulled should have it back again.

Gadget Improvements

Several gadgets got fixed, too. The Breach Drill had a placement animation that wasn’t showing, which now plays like it should. The Healing Emitter also had an unintended effect—it was healing through barricades, which has been corrected in this patch.

Trophy Showcase Adjustment

The Practice Range now has the Season 6 trophies on display. Before, they were missing from the cabinet, so this small update helps bring some continuity for players checking out their past rewards.

There was a strange issue where weapon dispersion broke under certain conditions, like after respawning, jumping, then shooting while standing still. It messed up how weapons behaved. Developers had turned off the new weapon system because of this, and now that it’s fixed, they’ve turned it back on. They’re keeping an eye on it, so if new bugs appear, they’re asking players to share feedback.

Performance and System Stability Fixes

The patch also handles performance stuff:

  • One issue caused frame rate drops when emoting with a linked Gateway, especially if players were using certain skins or interacting with the Anti-Gravity Cube. That’s been fixed.
  • PS4 users should see fewer issues now, as memory usage has been reduced.
  • Another issue involved party systems—if a leader was switched, parties of over three people sometimes failed to form. That’s now resolved.

Social and Communication Fixes

Chat functions weren’t working right in certain spots:

  • The in-game text chat sometimes didn’t appear toward the end of rounds. That’s been restored.
  • Club chat messages also didn’t display as they should’ve. This has been corrected, too.

Store Issue Addressed

A discount on the Ray Gun skin didn’t show up in the store before. That glitch has been patched, so pricing should now be visible correctly.

While not a major update, 7.1.0 adds some useful stability and fixes after Season 7’s launch. Embark Studios is continuing to make tweaks and is open to more community input as they polish things further.
