The previous CS:GO season was excellent for many players and one of them is Benjamin “blameF” Bremer.

The Astralis member received the opportunity to demonstrate his skills in November 2021, when he was acquired from Complexity Gaming. And he certainly did a really good job, earning a top 20 position for 2022.

About blameF’s 2022 season

Astralis didn’t have their best year imaginable in 2022, but some of the team’s members played exceptionally well despite the overall disappointment. BlameF distinguished himself at tournaments like IEM Cologne, where he was often Astralis’ best player.

In the quarterfinals against MOUZ, blameF had a huge impact on the result and helped his team to come back from a map score of 0-1. Then, in the semifinal lost by Astralis against Natus Vincere, he was the second-best player on the team and finished the game with a positive K-D score: 43-40.

This pattern continued throughout the season and most analysts would agree that blameF was not to blame for the failures registered by Astralis. At the same time, the successes obtained by the team can largely be attributed to him.

Take for example the third-fourth place obtained by the Danes at Elisa Masters Espoo 2022. In the quarterfinals against ENCE, Astralis made a comeback and won with a score of 2-1. At the end of the match, blameF was the best player on the server with 88 kills and a rating 2.0 of 1.29.

Clearly, the 25-year-old is enjoying the best years of his career right now. And he plays like he has a lot to prove, not just to himself but to the community as well. Astralis used to have superstars who were capable of carrying the team to victory. Now, that responsibility seems to rest on his shoulders.

Hopefully, with the return of Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, Astralis will go back to winning trophies. If dev1ce manages to play at his usual level and blameF doesn’t lose his focus and motivation to win, 2023 could be an amazing year for the team.

In 2022, blameF benefited from the masterful guidance of his IGL, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander. But the rest of the team didn’t do that great. This meant that very often, blameF found himself having to carry the team alone, which can be difficult at the highest level.

But now that dev1ce is here, he can rely on a world-class AWPer to secure an advantage in the rounds that can win you the map and the match.
