FIFA is one of the most popular sports simulation titles, but what about its esports scene? What are the biggest FIFA tournaments? It seems that every year, FIFA esports tournaments get bigger and better, that’s why in this piece, we took a look at the events FIFA fans should definitely not miss.

1. FIFAe World Cup

The FIFAe World Cup is an annual 1v1 tournament featuring 32 of the best FIFA players from around the world. This year’s event had a prize pool of $500,000. The teams are divided into four groups of eight teams each, with the top four teams from each group then advancing to a single-elimination playoff.

This year, the final was contested by RBLZ Gaming’s Umut “Umut” Gültekin from Germany versus Guild Esports’ Nicolas “nicolas99fc” Villalba. Umut eventually proved too strong for the Argentine, winning $250,000.

2. FIFAe Club World Cup

The FIFAe Club World Cup is another major FIFA esports event that takes place every year. It’s a little different from the World Cup because it’s a 2v2 tournament where players represent their teams and not their nations.

This year’s tournament featured 24 talented lineups including Spanish team Movistar Riders, Team Vitality, and Ninjas in Pajamas. The event featured $300,000 in prize money, which was eventually won by the Movistar Riders.

3. FIFAe Nations Cup

The FIFAe Nations Cup brings together the best FIFA nations in the world to see which country is the FIFA king. The FIFAe Nations Cup is a 2v2 tournament which starts with a 2-round group stage. Then the top four teams from each of the four groups advance to the single-elimination playoffs.

In 2022, 24 nations participated in the tournament including Brazil, Poland, India, England, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, and Portugal. The teams competed for $400,000 in prize money. Tn the Grand Final, Brazil defeated Poland in the final and won $120,000.

4. eChampions League

There is also an esports version of the Champions League. This event is very exclusive and will only feature eight of the best players who have made it through the qualifying rounds. This year, there was $225,000 up for grabs.

The tournament was very exciting and featured some familiar faces including Umut, Donovan “Tekkz” Hunt and nicolas99fc. The final was played between Tekkz and nicolas99fc, with nicolas99fc far too strong for the Englishman, beating him 4-1.

5. Virtual Bundesliga

The Bundesliga has its own esports competition — the Virtual Bundesliga. Some of the top German football clubs have launched their own esports team to compete in the league, with a total of 29 teams taking part. The VBL starts its new season on November 1, with €100,000 up for grabs. Participating teams are divided into two divisions: North-West and South-East.
