In a move that has surprised many, Team Liquid has made the decision to release popular streamer and content creator Ashkan “TF Blade” Homayouni. Homayouni hit the headlines in part due to his quest to reach the no.1 spot on the leaderboards, however the former substitute top laner will now go about his business without the banner of Team Liquid. Steve Arhancet, Team Liquid co-CEO, announced the news via a video posted on Twitter.

As part of the video, Arhancet made it clear that the move was mutual between both parties, while also stating just how “integral” TF Blade was for the Liquid community. TF Blade was a former substitute top laner for Team Liquid’s main and academy team, having once been known as one of the best solo queue players in the League of Legends scene, especially for his skills with Irelia and Jax.

What TF Blade Achieved During his League of Legends Playing Days

TF Blade reached the highest ranking in the game, Challenger, on a host of servers across the globe during his playing days, including in Europe North East, Europe West, Korea, Latin America North and North America. However, Homayouni’s reputation took something of a hit back in March, when the streamer felt hard done by due to the actions of Riot Games. He was subsequently banned from Korean solo queue matches for alleged toxicity.
Things went from bad to worse for TF Blade, who was removed from the League of Legends Partner Program (LPP) back in July after failing to make the “necessary improvement”. Riot will review his status next year, with there being a good possibility of reinstatement.

What Does the Future Hold for TF Blade

However, such negatives do not take away from what TF Blade has achieved to date. The 21-year-old Iranian-born never actually played a professional match for Team Liquid. He first joined the organization in 2018, playing in a host of Championship and Twitch rivals events, tournaments organized by fellow streamer and friend Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp.
TF Blade currently has some 1.1 million followers on Twitch to his name, with his streams regularly totaling six hours.
