fragster Jennifer Davis 13. November 2024

The magic and mayhem is over, but a new realm opens itself up to Tacticians. In less than two weeks, players will be diving ‘Into the Arcane’ and meet new characters upon the release of Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13.

With new traits also introduced, the full roster of TFT champions brings endless possibilities, allowing powerful team compositions to take you to Top 4. Let’s dive into some sample comps with this guide!

TFT Set 13 Team Comps

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (2)

New traits, augments, mechanics, and of course, champions come with the new Set 13: Into the Arcane. Exclusive characters from the Netflix show will join other Runeterran heroes and villains to form a whole new roster of TFT champions.

Creating the best team comps will depend on character synergies based on traits (origin and class). You’d want to hit a certain number of champions for one or several traits to activate buffs and effects that will make you more formidable in the game.

We’ll give you a list of recommended team compositions of Set 13 champions. You can try them out after the set arrives on November 20!

4 Watcher, 3 Family

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (3)

Champions: Vander, Powder, Violet, Ekko, Scar, Darius, Amumu, Draven

Synergies: Watcher (4), Family (3), Scrap (2), Ambusher (2), Conqueror (2), Firelight (2), Pit Fighter (2)

The stacked synergies on this team composition make it a promising one to try and build throughout the game. The core champions are the family members Vander, Violet, and Powder, with the first two on the frontline and Powder as backline carry. Playing these three together will activate the Family trait which is why you’d like to complete and prioritize three-starring them for mana reduction and better tankiness. Overall, this composition is a balance between durability and damage,

5 Experiment, 4 Sniper

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (4)

Champions: Dr. Mundo, Twitch, Urgot, Nunu & Willump, Zyra, Caitlyn, Maddie

Synergies: Experiment (5), Sniper (4), Dominator (2), Enforcer (2)

This composition, compared to the first one, will want to level up much more than reroll. You’d want to add as many experiment champions you can find in Shop to maximize the trait and quickly find your 4-cost carries. This will focus on Dr. Mundo and Twitch, building a strong frontline and backline both. As the Experiment trait’s bonus grants you laboratory hexes that enhance Experiment champions standing on them, make sure that your carries Dr. Mundo and Twitch would be standing on one of those.

6 Sorcerer, 3 Black Rose

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (5)

Champions: LeBlanc, Elise, Zoe, Swain, Nami, Vladimir, Lux, Zyra

Synergies: Sorcerer (7), Black Rose (3), Form Swapper (2), Emissary (1)

The highest-cost Sorcere, LeBlanc, will be this composition’s main damage carry with Zoe. However, since you typically wouldn’t get her unless you get a lucky roll or carousel round, Lux and Zyra can be your carries and item holders for Zoe and Zyra in the early to mid game. Meanwhile, Swain will be your main tank which Vladimir could swap in for in the early game. You’d want a double Gargoyle Stoneplate and one Warmog’s Armor as his items for maximum durability.

Bruiser Comp

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (6)

Champions: Caitlyn, Elise, Nunu & Willump, Gangplank, Renni, Sett, Steb, Trundle

Synergies: Bruiser (6), Enforcer (2), Sniper (2), Form-Swapper (2)

This team composition is focused on survivability through a bruiser frontline and team synergies. Caitlyn will be the main damage-dealer from the backline, while the Bruiser will be occupying all hexes in the frontmost row to stall. While you still don’t have Caitlyn, you can have Maddie and another backline champion in the early game as substitutes. Alternatively, you can save Maddie and three-star her to join Caitlyn in doing the killings later on.

Academy Comp

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (7)

Champions: Jayce, Heimerdinger, Leona, Ezreal, Illaoi, Swain, Rell, Lux

Synergies: Academy (5), Sentinel (2), Form Swapper (2), Sorcerer (2)

Revolving around Jayce and Heimerdinger as main carries, this composition looks to level up fast until you can get their first copies. Jayce will be a frontline unit along Conquerors and Sentinels, while Heimerdinger will be a backline attacker with Lux and Ezreal. For the Academy Trait bonus which will be sponsored items, pick Attack Damage items for Jayce, Ability Power items for Heimerdinger, and Tank items for Leona.

Conclusion

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13 Team Comps GUIDE (9)

With the exciting changes and additions brought by the new TFT Set 13, players can expect unique, strong blends of strength and resistance in these champion combinations. It will take pitting one against another multiple times to see if there’s one team comp that is simply superior, which means we’ll have to eagerly wait for Into the Arcane to drop to test them in battle.

In the meantime, Set 12: Magic N’ Mayhem is getting ready to say goodbye with one last patch before we dive into another world. Try the Choncc’s Treasure gamemode before it ends, or reminisce about the enchanting adventures you had on this previous set.
