Summary:
- Patch 15.5 completely changes the Power Up system, eliminating seven augments, redesigning Ice Bender, and introducing limitations to healthier constructions.
- The buffs were Crystal Gambit buffed, The Crew/Edgelord adjusted and Ahri, Kennen buffed and Viego nerfed.
TFT patch 15.5 brings with it extensive revisions to the Power Up system and trait balance of the game. This update was the fifth major editing of K.O. Coliseum which became issued on September 24, 2025. Besides, the patch releases Ascent of Ao Shin, a temporary PvE game lasting until October 21.
Trait Adjustments and Champion Balance Changes
Through major modifications, Crystal Gambit became much more viable as a high-risk loss-streak strategy. Multipliers of Stage 3-4 became 1.4/2x when compared with 1.25/1.65x. Crystal Gambit (7), however, experienced a decrease in power of 500 HP and 20% Amp to 300 HP and 15% Amp.
Base rocket damage was reduced by 80 to 75 on Crew trait. This shift balances power to individual champion strength, especially to the advantage of Ziggs as a carry champion. Meanwhile, the scale of attack damage of Edgelord has been improved to 15/40/60% AD instead of 15/35/55%.
Monster Trainer was fully mechanically stripped of its leveling system. Monsters no longer increase their max health by 1% per level, which makes them easier to use as part of a team composition. Moreover, the Monster Trainer cashout rewards were deleted completely in Crystal Gambit.
| Trait | Previous Value | New Value | Impact |
| Crystal Gambit Stage 3-4 | 1.25/1.65x | 1.4/2x | Higher cashout potential |
| Crystal Gambit (7) | 500 HP, 20% Amp | 300 HP, 15% Amp | Power reduction |
| The Crew Rocket Damage | 80 | 75 | Slight nerf |
| Edgelord AD | 15/35/55% | 15/40/60% | Buff across all tiers |
Champion Updates Across All Cost Tiers
Several champions were adjusted in TFT patch 15.5 to solve certain performance problems. Kennen received considerable heal enhancements (210/250/300 AP) and damage decrease (100/150/225 AP). The transition makes him a supportive tank of Sorcerer compositions.
Ahri was given considerable buffs aimed at her reroll carry potential. The Spell damage was raised to 460/690 /1275% AP whereas overkill mechanisms were enhanced to generate a more consistent damage. Likewise, improvements in attack speed (0.75 to 0.8) were given to Ziggs to make him a more viable carrier mid-game.
Viego is the only significant nerf on the patch, as the attack speed is lowered to 0.85. This change is in response to his increase in power after prior optimization and role changes. Moreover, three champions completely lost their leveling mechanics: Kog’Maw, Rammus and Smolder.
| Champion | Key Changes | Cost | Impact |
| Kennen | Heal: 180/210/240→210/250/300 AP | 1-cost | Tank viability improved |
| Ahri | Spell: 430/650/1175%→460/690/1275% AP | 3-cost | Reroll carry potential |
| Viego | Attack Speed: 0.9→0.85 | 3-cost | Power reduction |
| Rammus | Health: 900→1000, leveling removed | 3-cost | Simplified mechanics |
| Yuumi | Starting pages: 15→20, reworked | 4-cost | Flexibility enhancement |
Power Up System Comprehensive Overhaul
TFT patch 15.5 also erases seven bad Power Ups that restricted the variety of champion builds. The options discontinued would be Cyclone Rush, Essence Share, Fusion Dance, Pure Heart, Selfish, Stretchy Arms and Rare Treat. Such removals enable champions such as Darius to survive against overpowered combinations.
Secondary Power Up appearance rates were lowered to give way to more attractive primary choices. Classy effectiveness grew to 45% but this time it needs Silver-tier traits or more. Desperado, in the meantime, was heavily modified, needing fewer attacks to make (12 to 8) and doing fewer damage (140% to 100% AD).
Ice Bender was fully mechanically reworked with less damage amplification (25 to 20%). The Power Up will now chill on the instance of first spell damage as opposed to full bonus damage at once. Also, several Power Ups had stage restrictions, such as Hungry Hero, Golden Edge, and Heart of Gold being unavailable on Stage 3.
| Power Up | Previous Effect | New Effect | Restriction |
| Classy | 40% effectiveness | 45% effectiveness | Silver-tier+ only |
| Desperado | 12 attacks, 140% AD | 8 attacks, 100% AD | None |
| Ice Bender | 25% amp, 4s chill | 20% amp, 1s chill | Reworked mechanics |
| Hungry Hero | Stage 3 available | Stage 4+ only | Stage restriction added |
Item Balance and Bug Fixes
Adjustments on items are aimed at maximizing underused items without losing competitiveness. Overall speed of Quicksilver base attack was raised by 10 to 15 percent, and Titan Resolve was entirely redone. The item does not give resistances anymore but at maximum stacks, gives 10% damage amplification.
Changes of artifacts aim at alignment of power levels between Radiant items and finished items. Silvermere Dawn received more attack damage (140%) and resistances (80), and Talisman of Ascension health was vastly increased (300 to 500). Suspicious Trenchcoat was however removed due to optimization problems and confusion among players.
TFT patch 15.5 covers many essential bugs in the gameplay. Rammus no longer has permanent effects on sound effects when he dies with active shields. The Mighty Mech also now critically strikes with Executioner trait, and items can no longer be deleted when selling units the moment they are equipped.
Conclusion
TFT patch 15.5 has managed to overcome the longstanding Power Up system limitations with a strategic depth. The overall champion changes establish equalized power distribution in different cost levels. Thus, future competitive season players can look forward to better healthier meta diversity, with meaningful build path choice.
