TFT Patch 14.7 Overview
Teamfight Tactics Patch 14.7 is a competitive patch, with the primary focus on the Cyber City set as it takes the final step towards its competitive run, with Tactician’s Crown happening July 11-13, 2025. The patch also lands at the right time in Riot’s typical summer break, so we have extended the summer break. That’s 3 weeks until you see Patch 14.8, the final patch to Cyber City.
While this patch doesn’t have much sweeping changes, Riot Games made several important balance changes to fine-tune the meta for high-level play. Specifically, they have made significant changes to Double Up designed to reduce the power of three-star 4-cost units. Aside from competitive balance purposes, Patch 14.7 is also packed with quality-of-life changes and some other minor updates across the other game modes, such as Pengu’s Party and Revival: Remix Rumble.
Key System Changes
In patch 14.7, major system changes were added to get gameplay balancing in a better state and to improve more competitive player experience overall. One of the larger changes is that Radiant items now have a naming convention of “Radiant XXX”. This change allows players to better identify items in a more consistent manner.
In addition, Riot made a change to the item selection logic for the carousel stage 5+. If a player doesn’t pick an item, the game will try to provide a completed item over the highest-cost champion when possible. This encourages more deliberate item builds and minimizes roll-down randomness in acquiring items.
Major Trait and Augment Changes
In Patch 14.7 of TFT, you can expect a small set of major changes to traits and augments that help improve competitive balance and modify other aspects of gameplay that are less desirable. A few traits were changed to adjust power levels in ways that are meaningful, yet don’t create enormous structural changes.
- Riot Games lowered the base loss value of the Cypher trait across all tier levels, making it less punishing. From 16/20/24/28 to 13/18/23/28.
- Executor’s critical strike chance increased at higher levels, from 25/35/45/50% to 25/35/50/55%, making it much more lethal.
- The Exotech trait has a decrease to HP at the 7-unit threshold (300 to 270) and will gain a buff to its Holobow item, which will now give 15% AD.
- Nitro now gets a minor HP per stack increase, from 11 to 12.
- Vanguard had a minor decrease in shield damage, from 48% to 45%
You’ll also see some minor tuning of other augments to ensure a more balanced experience. However, the majority of this patch is just really focused on traits and champions.
- Riot Games disabled the well-loved Think Fast augment
- Likewise, they also disabled the Overclocked and Spare Parts augments.
- The Last Stand augment has been partially nerfed, reducing the permanent team health bonus from 200 to 150.
- At the same time, there’s been a buff on Luden’s Echo damage, increasing the range from (100-250) to (110-300).
- Reduced a little of Thorn Plated Armor’s healing from 35% to 30%.
- Lastly, Memory Bank is no longer an offered option on stage 3-2.
Champion Adjustments
1-Cost Champions
- Dr. Mundo gets a nerf on his healing HP, from 5% to 2%.
- Vi’s shield AP ratio nerf is very minor at one and two-star levels and also very minor buff at four-star levels, 275/350/500/650% to 260/335/500/665%.
- Zyra actually received a buff with her main and secondary vine damage buffs across all star levels.
2-Cost Champions
- Shyvana got a buff to her HP gain, from 200/270/340% and now receives 210/285/360% HP gain.
- Graves, on the other hand, got a sizable nerf to his item interactions. Wit’s End and Titanic Hydra only proc once per auto attack instead of multiple times. Additionally, they nerfed the projectile damage from 35% to 33%.
4-Cost Champions
- Annie got a nerf with her Mini-Fireball damage from 45/68/300% to 42/63/300%.
- Cho’Gath in turn received a buff with a bigger base HP at 1100 instead of 1000.
- Nerfed Neeko’s shield ability AP ratio from 280/300/1500% to 295/315/1500%.
- Ziggs got a buff in terms of base ability damage going from 250/375/1500% to 265/400/1500%
- Vex also got a bump in AD from 180/270/1100% to 190/285/1150%
5-Cost Champions
- Nerfed Zac’s ability power scaling from 4 to 2 AP per Blob. But the change in his ability AP ratios at early ranks from 115/175% to 140/210% is a bigger buff, even though his ult won’t be changed at 1000%.
- Samira also increased her base bullets from 20 to 22, basically giving her a raw damage buff. But the ammo per Amp decreased from 2 to 1.
Conclusion
Patch 14.7 is Riot’s way of refining the TFT experience right before some important Cyber City games. It’s not about turning the game upside down, but it’s about polishing the experience and keeping it engaging and competitive. This patch has a lot of smaller changes that could dramatically impact how you build your team and approach each game. Meta is fluid, so your next winning comp could come from a different champion or trait than you were willing to experiment with.
