Team Unique has announced the signing of Rostislav “fn” Lozovoi, with the mid laner having joined their Dota 2 lineup as a direct replacement for Yaroslav “Pikachu” Vasilenko. Unique is showing no signs of slowing down their rebuild, having already made a host of roster changes this year.

Unique only announced its new roster back in January, which featured ex-NOVA players Artem “spAce” Golubiev, Gleb “depressed kid” Ziryanov, Maksym “pjon” Netrebsckiy, Ilgiz “lowkez” Arduganov, and Dmitriy “kickeed” Pilyaev. However, the lineup did not last long, with the entire roster having been benched after just two weeks.

Why fn Has Been Signed by Unique

As a result, fn has been brought in ahead of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit second season, with Unique having also struggled at the recent EPIC League Season 3 Division 2, where they finished in third place. Unique still has seven inactive players, including Egor “19teen” Lexyutin, Dmitriy “kickeed” Pilyaev and Danil “illusion” Grzhevka.

It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for such players, with talk of a secondary lineup growing, similar to that of Virtus.pro with VP.Prodigy. fn has previously competed under the banner of Team Empire, Virtus.Pro, Gambit Esports and VP.Prodigy. As a result of his arrival, Unique now has a hugely experienced lineup, featuring Semion “CemaTheSlayer” Krivula and Andrii “Ghostik” Kadyk.

What the Near Future Holds for Unique

Team Unique will feature in the upper division of the second season, following their top-6 finish in the first CIS DPC season. They will come up against the likes of Natus Vincere, AS Monaco Gambit, Team Spirit and EXTREMUM, along with the recently promoted PuckChamp and Winstrike Team.

The season will comprise of a single round-robin, as well as a best-of-three stage, which will determine who takes home a significant proportion of the $205,000 prize fund. Those finishing in the top three places will also qualify for the upcoming Major. The team finishing third will be a Wild Card Seed, while the runners up will receive a bye into the group phase, with the winners going directly into the playoffs.

Little is currently known about the second Major of the year, however it is been penciled in for May or June, depending on the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic.
