Team Secret Speed Runs the OGA Dota PIT Season 3

This is becoming ridiculous. In a way it reminds me of Astralis’ run in CS:GO just a season ago. After a while, everyone knew what was coming and even Astralis fans were starting to hope that a worthy opponent will be found. And the solution came from Astralis itself. As one might say, if they can’t beat you, perhaps you can help them. Well, in Dota 2, it’s going to be really tough to beat Team Secret if they keep their roster intact and continue to train as hard as they’ve been training.

Secret’s Victory at OGA Dota PIT Season 3 Europe/CIS

What’s shocking is not that Secret won. Everybody was expecting that. The real news is that they did it without losing a single game in the Grand Finals again. This is the 7th Grand Finals they win in this fashion in 2020. And it’s starting to feel strange. Normally, you’d think that at least one of the other teams would pose a serious challenge, but the problem is that everyone is either out of shape or missing important players.

Team Nigma had to compete without KuroKy and this time it didn’t go as before: they lost 0 – 2 in the first round of the Upper Bracket and the 0 – 2 again in the first round of the Lower Bracket. OG also had to play with a stand-in, on top of having a relatively new roster. Natus Vincere just brought in an entirely new roster, which in turn had just acquired a new player (RodjER). Alliance has a strong and stable roster, but they don’t have the skill to beat Secret at this point in time. Team Liquid is severely out of shape. Evil Geniuses was not present at this tournament, even though they are now competing in Europe. But even if they had been, the fac that they’re playing with a stand-in pretty much means they have no chance. And finally, we have Virtus.pro. But they’ve been out of shape from the start of 2020 and recently, the organization decided to bench the whole roster.

Team Secret not only won with a score of 3 – 0 in the Grand Final against VP.Prodigy. They also went undefeated for the entire tournament, apart from one match: against VP.Prodigy in the Quarterfinals. They won that encounter with a score of 2 – 1. But that was the only time we saw them bleed at OGA Dota PIT Season 3.

Secret’s run was made up of 4 quick matches: against VP.Prodigy, Natus Vincere, Alliance, and once again, VP.Prodigy.

Other Team That Impressed at the Tournament

Three other teams did well at OGA Dota PIT Season 3. These teams were VP.Prodigy, Alliance, and Natus Vincere. These competitors finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. It was great to see VP.P back in form and it was also great to see Alliance playing well enough to be in the Upper Bracket Final. Their roster has huge potential and we’re likely to see them get even better results in the near future. Finally, it was nice to see Na’Vi doing well with their recently signed roster. Finishing 4th at an event like this, so soon after finalizing the roster and joining a completely new organization is quite impressive.
