Team Liquid PH (TLPH) has finally completed the missing piece in their MLBB trophy journey, after taking home the Mid Season Cup (MSC) at the 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh. They beat the current defending champions, Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG.OG) by a 4-1 score in front of a cheering crowd at the STC Esports Arena.

With this one, they are now the first MLBB team to win every big title in esports. On top of that, they also grabbed USD 1 million from the total USD 3 million prize pool, which is also among the biggest ones in MLBB so far.

New viewership record set at MSC 2025

TLPH’s path to the trophy was already showing promise when they defeated the world champions ONIC PH in a tight 4-3 Grand Final during MPL PH Season 15. Entering the MSC as favourites, they didn’t lose any series on the way to the title.

Their squad includes some of the Philippines’ best players in MLBB right now, like Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya, Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz, Alston “Sanji” Pabico, and John “Perkziva” Sumawan. After this win, Team Liquid now sits on top of the EWC Club Championship table with 3200 points.

KarlTzy, who is widely considered as one of the legends of MLBB, finally got his hands on the MSC trophy. He had already won the world championship and multiple MPL PH titles before. Now, with the MSC also under his name, he completed what many fans call the Career Grand Slam.

Sanford also had an unforgettable moment after he was given the MVP title in the Grand Finals. Along with that, he earned an extra USD 10,000 prize. He was earlier featured in Level Up, an Amazon Prime esports docuseries that showed his real-life struggle as the main earner for his family after his father’s stroke last year. Despite the hard times, he managed to rise and shine on the big stage.

Even though SRG.OG didn’t manage to defend the title, but their run still made headlines. They are now the first MLBB team to reach back-to-back MSC Grand Finals. They went home with USD 500,000 and proved again why they are still among the top squads from Malaysia.

ONIC PH, who fell just short in their local league, managed to grab third place after beating ONIC ID by a 3-2 score earlier in the day. With that, both ONIC teams finished in the top four at MSC.

This year’s MSC also went beyond just gameplay. It became the most viewed event in EWC history. As per Esports Charts, the tournament reached more than 3 million peak viewers and clocked over 50 million total hours watched. That puts MSC not just as a highlight for MLBB, but as a major global esports tournament.
