The RLCS 2021–22 World Championship, which began with the top 24 Rocket League teams globally, has concluded with Team BDS bringing home the gleaming trophy. The European titans trounced G2 esports 4-1 in the championship match to win $600,000 in prize money and 801 RLCS circuit points.

Team BDS have been named the new world champions of the Rocket League following an incredible best-of-seven grand final. With all three players of the team flawlessly working as one, the European giants dominated the entire event and were only challenged once, in the first round of the playoffs against their French rivals Karmine Corp.

With Alex “Extra” Paoli leading the way for BDS as the highest goal scorer of the match, G2’s defenses were put to the test throughout the match. Both Evan “M0nkey M00n” Rogez and Seiko recorded identical figures, scoring three goals while saving five. With the support of their solid play throughout the game, the squad was able to completely seize control of the match while thwarting any comeback attempts made by the North American team. Enzo “Seikoo” Grondein of Team BDS got the overall MVP award, his teammate M0nkey M00n was named the defensive MVP, and G2’s Reed Chicago Wilen was named the offensive MVP.

The long-running team of Extra and Evan M00n, who had won eight Regionals and four Majors, now has a global championship to their name after this impressive victory over G2. After more than a thousand days, NRG’s reign has come to an end as BDS are now hailed as the new world champion.
