During the last few months, many problems have arisen around the different rewards that can be earned through VALORANT.

Often a problem that seems highly complicated can be solved with a straightforward solution. However, some professional VALORANT players and very popular content creators have reached the top of the game in its competitive mode but have found that the rewards are shallow.

Problem players in VALORANT

In each of the ranks of Riot Games’ tactical shooter, VALORANT, a large portion of the community is “toxic.” These players tend to be very problematic, do not communicate, do not follow strategies, and often do not even listen to calls. We see this in all ranks, including Immortal and Radiant, the two highest in the game.

In addition, a few weeks ago, we saw how the competitive mode at its highest level had been immersed in the world of cheating, for some players throw the game on purpose to earn money on crypto gambling sites.

Tarik creates its own “competitive mode”

In response to the above, popular gamer and content creator Tarik “tarik” Celik created his Discord server with integrated matchmaking and MMR. To this server, a select group of high-level players was invited to join and play in 10-player custom games. This “league” is what we know as Pro City.

Most of the Tarik Pro City members are professional gamers or popular content creators. According to Tarik, the virtual gates of Pro City are “policed by strict criteria and a strong board to ensure that the high level of play is maintained.”

Right now, there is no schedule regarding matches or seasons. All Tarik Pro City players enter the server lobby and will be matched against each other to make everything as balanced as possible.

Top 1 in Tarik Pro City

Pro City uses NeatQueue, a Discord add-on that queues players, tracks their wins and losses, and assigns MMR.

The Pro City rankings can be actively tracked on the NeatQueue website. For example, at the time of writing, we have the following player topping the list:

Michael “neT” Bernet of The Guard currently has the highest MMR at 1447, with a win-loss record of 21-5.

Unfortunately, Tarik has one of the lowest MMR and losing records on his server, with 767 points and a 27-41 win-loss record.

Tarik said:

“A lot of the struggle with Pro City is maintaining the level of play; which means having strict criteria and strong council. Sorry that I can’t be inclusive to everyone, but it’s the only way that it’ll work. If Riot does ask us to stop, then it’s totally out of my control.”

“I do understand that some existing players don’t currently meet criteria, but it’s a work in progress. If players start falling behind or can’t keep up, then the council will have the final say.”
