Crypto betting on VALORANT has recently been at the top of the headlines, as some players were placing bets to throw in games to win cryptos.

In one of the most recent streams, Tarik “tarik” Celik shared his idea to combat this problem. The streamer pointed out that he thinks a professional VALORANT league managed by him and a team could solve Crypto gambling in Valorant.

Tarik proposes an alternative league to the ranked one

All this was made by Tarik reacting to the video of the professional player TDAWGG on his YouTube account, where the player denounced the intentional throw to win games using crypto bets.

As we mentioned, Tarik responded with a proposal for a separate league, where crypto players who let themselves win to make money in games will be excluded. This idea comes days after a Tweet of his where he explicitly complained about this problem and the creation of a “pro-10s / high elo discord”, Tarik said.

Tarik talks about the hypothetical alternate league of VALORANT

In the stream, Tarik talks about the rules players must follow to join this hypothetical alternate VALORANT league to avoid crypto throwers.

For those who don’t understand what we are talking about. Crypto throw is when a player intentionally gets on a Streamer’s team in a ranked game to lose deliberately and thus win a bet placed on a cryptocurrency betting website.

In short, Tarik’s idea is to create an alternate professional league to VALORANT’s ranked mode. Only players of higher ranks will be able to enter this league, which experienced players will vet to avoid crypto throws.

Tarik suggests that it will be an invitation-only league.

In addition, Tarik also mentioned that his idea is to make it an invitation-only league. On the other hand, those players who are part of a professional organization would automatically be eligible to play in it. Tarik said:

“I’m brainstorming it all. But, basically, how I see it going is that if you are a franchised player, if you’re a player on a franchise team, you can join directly. And then, if you’re a contracted player for Valorant on a tier-1 org, you can join right away.”

Repeatedly, Tarik mentioned The Guard and TSM teams and clarified that players associated with them would enter the league for free. Now, if someone didn’t qualify, they would have to apply for an invitation.

“Otherwise, you have to apply to join, and you have to meet one of these.”

Requirements

  • A player who has finished in the top 50 in one of the last three acts.
  • Those with more than six months’ contract with any professional organization.
  • The rank must be Immortal 3+ in the last three acts and with 500+ hours streamed in the previous year.

For several weeks, we have heard Tarik speak on this topic to raise awareness among players to avoid crypto throws. Well, what better way than by one of the most popular VALORANT streamers today?
